About the Spare Parts -- It's incredibly Stupid to Burn Them

I don't know what is with John Connor and Sarah Connor, maybe they don't know anything about computers, engineering, or lack common sense.... Spare parts don't LEAD to skynet. A whole arm with electronics, maybe, but even that wouldn't lead to skynet. However, spare parts? Spare parts lead to nothing but aid to Cameron, their really only defender. These terminators are powerful, they cannot defend themselves with simple guns. John Connor's safety is related to Cameron's functionality. Cameron is compromised, so is John's safety. They should be incredibly interested in trying to FIX Cameron's glitches/wounds/problems. So I don't get it.... Why is there an urgency to burn "spare parts"?? It's not going to help anyone to burn them. Burning a whole terminator body, I understand, or even a chip, or a whole arm, which may be reverse engineered, but a bunch of spare parts, ... I don't get it. 8 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

I think Sarah did it, out of fear. She's afraid of what Cam's doing at night, and why she's hiding the spare parts! She's more concerned with too many of the right kind of spare parts to be around to make something out of it, I think .....

Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is a completely (or even mostly) logical decision.John was willing to listen to logic when Cameron showed him the spare parts. Sarah will burn (er, has burned) the parts just out of hatred for the robots and anger at having been lied to. Sarah and her fear will never when this war and future John know this. That's what Jesse says I'm not here to stop the war I'm here to win it and John believes this because of humans fear that will cause JD.

I guess that explains it. It must be fear/anxiety/panic about Cameron or about her son, or about skynet etc. I guess I keep forgetting that she's living it. In those kinds of situations, all sorts of emotion can occur and cause people to do silly things.Hell, even in chess sometimes I make some completely stupid choice, even sometimes when I knew that choice was stupid. But because of time limits and I dunno pressure, stress, or whatever, I make the wrong choice. I once thought of a move, that I calculated would result in my losing the game, and then I considered other choices, but then I went back to the "lost game" move, and I did it... I don't know why, even when I knew it was wrong. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

They really should not burn them. maybe if they had to move quickly and travel light so that they could not take them with them... then maybe.The least they should do is a Cammy overhaul and replace all the parts they can then burn the rest and old parts. got to keep the only effective protector in top working order. : ) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Sarah was "getting back" at Cameron. She said "I don't care" as the response to those being spare parts. She was lashing out, and yes, she does fear what Cameron is doing at night, and her real motives for not telling us everything.Same way I fear JF motives and distrust his not telling us everything. ---I also think he has woven a bit of his personality (which on this point I think is a flaw) to be both ambiguous and just flat out lie when it is thought they need arises. None of the characters in this show are really "straight up" about what they do. Not only is this very frustrating for me, but it causes them a whole mess of problems they don't need or even would have to deal with: making them their own worse enemy! That's sounds real familiar as to the mess the show itself is in, and why. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

She's too easy to jump to conclusions w/o evidence of what happened to Riley. She's obviously upset about that, but by burning Cam's extra parts she's not only betraying Cam. She betrayed John. In the back of her mind, she knew John was hiding something. That's why she rooted around in the garage to find out what. On the other hand, John is holding it together pretty well under the circumstances. He's figuring out what's going on except for that extra "I love you" from Cammy Girl. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
