RE: No Fate: the Sarah Connor Chronicles CONVENTION Apr 23 2011, 8:09 AM EDT Ok first ....I read the blue wiki thread and it was deleted , right after I read it, so who wanted that deleted, was it 3 gals , or the admin at blue????? 2nd I think it is cool and a big operation to actually try to do a Tscc con. but I have some advice for you and one idea. first before you start trying to sell tickets to what is right now a blank convention , you need to get summer thomas, and brian to sign to be there, I think all 3 would want to come, and with lena she is in UK, so she would be too expensive, and also less likely to come. same with shirley. but savannah should be easy to get? so when you can say these people "will" be ther for that weekend then you have a convention that people will go out of their way to go to. as for the pricing many on blue said it was too high, but if you had main cast coming it isnt that high. but one thing to think about, 10 people coming and paying $125 each is same thing as 100 people paying $12.50, and more people would make for a much better con. I think a cheap ticket price like 12.50 per day is the way to go, and if 2-3000 show up then you have a good con and make enough $. I think if you had that cheap ticket price at least 2000 summer fans would be there. now for my idea: what you could do is sell tickets, also very cheap, say $10 each if paid in advance [after you announce for sure guests] for the url for a live stream of the convention which would be sent out online, to your website, and each person who paid could login and watch it with a code of some sort. again I think it is better to be cheap and go for volume sales instead of small expensive sales. more people would also enrich the experience. you might also contact airlines and hotels about discounts for people wanting to go to this convention, some sort of 1/2 price deal good if they pay at least 6 months in advance, and fly coach with no peanuts. cont Post reply Do you find this valuable?

RE: No Fate: the Sarah Connor Chronicles CONVENTION Apr 23 2011, 8:17 AM EDT the key to the whole thing is getting summer for sure, and dekker 2nd brian 3rd, and savannah and shirly would be great, and if you can get lena cheap then her too. you need at least 1st 3 or 1st 5 to have a good con. and remember you can make $ on other things sold at the con if 2-3000 people are there. to do that you need a cheaper ticket price, and some sort of discount on getting there and hotel room, and most are going to be one day visitors, in fact the con should be a 1 day thing on a saturday. just my thoughts on if I was doing the con. and I think a live stream would be great for those who cant go to con, and not everyone can go, then all the foreign fans of the show would also like that. We're working on that. BTW, Lena lives in LA. re # of attendees - Let's be honest with ourselves, we have a very small fandom. 2-3000 attendees is asking quite a lot. Also, venues hold only so many people with their room occupancy limits. The more people there are, the bigger the area you need, the most expensive the location and it's a vicious cycle. Besides, we're going for more intimate setting with several hundred rather than several thousand re length of con - With everything we've been planning (and since things aren't finalized they haven't been posted on the site until it is), the con can not be squeezed into one day. re ticket sales - Don't forget it's an intimate setting, where attendees will have much better chances of meeting and speaking with guests, attending just about every panel they want to, interact in the various activities provided, and so much more plus it's three days in length. The attendee will actually be getting quite a lot for their money. re hotels and discounts - Yes, we know. We're working that.
