'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' coming to cable, plus Syfy's spring premiere dates -- EXCLUSIVE

Excerpt from ...

----------------------------------
Another former Fox sci-fi fan favorite is heading to cable: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up by Syfy.

EW can exclusively report that Syfy has gained the rights to all 31 episodes of the series, which ran for two seasons on Fox from 2008-09. This will mark the first time the show has aired off broadcast.

The news comes on the heels of Science Channel making waves by picking up Fox’s cult fave Firefly. Sarah Conner Chronicles will launch on Syfy on Thursday, April 7 at 9 p.m., with an airing of Terminator 3 for a lead-in. Its regular time slot will be Thursdays from 7 to 11 p.m. (So, yes, four episodes in a row!)

Great news!

Maybe the reruns could win over new fans.

Showing the episodes four in a row is a good idea; it should really help maintain the momentum of the story.

I wonder if this has any licensing implications with WB and Pacificor, or is it just a straight rerun deal?

It's a rerun, this time on cable. Always good to hear.
Totally wrong lead-in, though... Precisely the movie blatantly ignored by the TV show... *sigh*

Hey, maybe it's good. What better way to show how crappy T3 is than by giving a direct contrast to a much better product that is TSCC.

Showing T3 first can make TSCC look good in contrast.

Also, Sarah Connor is mentioned but not shown in T3. T1 and T2 would require the audience do an adjustment from Linda Hamilton to Lena Headey.

Always good to have optimistic, proactive and positive perspectives like this!
Very good yourself too, TnT!
I had certainly never thought of it that way, but T3 is not *that* hugely bad! Come on...

While in the V Saga, I'm an proud member of an (behind of the Great Firewall) forum where some elements of the story are leaked by ... let's say ... some insiders, here I have no idea!

Maybe, it is about a huge and rich guy, with an typical Austrian accent, which test the waters? :D

Ok, Metalhunter,
1) I don't even know what you mean by future "busy times" in a few months.
2) Me and Jen are not "new Liquidmetals" or "new" anything. To each their own. If you have any complains, just say so, preferably through a PM.
3) I also don't know why are you're even posting this here...
4) It's enlightening to know that I'm not "beloved" like Jen.

Hey, Losa!

First, to known I have a very good opinion about LiquidMetal! This guy was The Biggest Mod of this wiki, in my opinion! Remember the life in this wiki in those past times, with an Forever War joined by almost crowd... ;)

Second, well... you are one of my best (virtual) friends and I respect you very much, but... well... you are guy! I can't say "my beloved" Losa! :P

And, finally. I hope that there will come new members, from the SyFy viewers, then I said that. I hope that will be an strong activity which require an "hard" moderation... ;)

Still, we can talk for sure about parallel realities/future in the case of T3/TSCC? ;)

How many will understand the ... difference?

this is god news , at least it is something.
and it depends on how the show does in ratings on syfy, that will be interesting to see how it does.
if ratings are good for reruns then that would help raise interest in a tscc movie.
it will help create new fans, but as for them coming here , they wuld have to know about this site. it does show up in google so it is possible. many will go to syfy boards. It might help to have discussion threads for these first showings?around april 7

Thing is: is there really gonna be a significant number of people at all who will be watching the show on SyFy for the first time ever? The show has been on a big broadcast channel like Fox already... Seems to me that the huge majority of the viewers on SyFy will be watching at least for a second time, right?
I wouldn't bet on new discussion threads for any newbies at all... Besides, we could always rehash the really, really old ones, if we can find them... It should be fun to read, and awesome and rather overwhelming material for any occasional newbie coming here. I wouldn't keep my hopes up, though...

I recall we had at least one new discussion thread for each episode.

I hope someone can find them and bump them so the SyFy viewers can read what has been said before.

Also, it would be amusing to see how we were speculating and guessing wildly about some things and we know the answers now. Like, we had fierce debates over whether Weaver term was pro Skynet or was she Third Faction. And whether John and Cameron would ever "get together." Sigh, those were the days, eh?

I wonder how much it costs to air the whole series? How much will SyFy pay WB or whoever.

That raises the question of who will be the advertising sponsor? My hat's off to them for the support, whoever they are.

Very little. The magic syndication number that gets you special treatment and a lot of money used to be 100 eps. It's quite possibly lower nowadays, maybe 80 will do, but with 31 eps were far from even that. Also, this is a serial show. It's procedurals (NCIS, House) or comedies that get the big deals.
