Saving The Sarah Connor Chronicles at ComicCon 2010
May 18 2010, 10:43 PM EDT | Post edited: May 18 2010, 10:43 PM EDT
One year ago today, The Sarah Connor Chronicles was cancelled and fans from around the world rallied for its continuation. One year later, we’re still fighting.

This July, we’re bringing our campaign to the San Diego ComicCon, a massive hub of fans, television networks, studios and media. We’re bringing back the mobile billboard and targeting convention goers with giveaway items promoting our cause. (There’s going to be a LOT of stickers flying around come July. Watch out, WB. We have stickers with your booth’s name on them.)

All the details about our exciting summer campaign are here:http://www.savethescc.com/comiccon

As always, we welcome fan suggestions for other items to giveaway or ideas on how to promote our cause at ComicCon.

The message now is the same as it was a year ago. There is no fate but what we make. Save The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I donated $50 to the cause. The three days during the mobile billboard's maiden voyage, I had a huge smile on my face....So ridiculous, yet so awsome. Would love to see it again. Maybe this time in person. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I gave a $100, while I don't know what good it will do, this is probably our best, and perhaps last chance to achieve anything.

So if any of you still want to watch more TSCC, give this your best shot, even if it's as little as $5 it all helps!

Well said, if we were swans who lost our partner, we would pine away.
If we were Queen Victoria, we would wear black for the rest of our lives.
If we were T:SCC fans, we would do a lot more than that ... and we do.

Donations are going well and we've got private contributions from savethescc staff and others in addition to what's shown on the PayPal widget. So we're getting closer and only need about $1000 more to do everything we planned for Comic Con. If you haven't given, every little bit really does help. We have to pay for the billboard next week, but we'll keep donations going longer to hit the full goal.

At the other wiki, some people are a bit down so in case anyone here is too, I'll repost what I wrote there (hope it's not bad form to mention the other wiki here).

It's been a difficult year for TSCC fans. Had Halcyon not been such a financial disaster, we'd probably be gleefully talking about spoilers for an upcoming movie right now instead of still waiting for WB to green light one. But those extenuating circumstances with the Terminator rights put everything on hold for months.

WB knew the fans wanted more, but because so much time passed between The Freaking Big Push and the rights getting settled, we think it's well worth it to make a bit more noise so they know we're still here and we still want it. And Comic Con is the perfect spot for that because it's where industry and fandom collide. Running the billboard and handing out TSCC-related stuff there IS going to have a major impact.

It's also going to mark the end of savethescc's push for TSCC. After Comic Con, we'll leave it to the producers/writers and actors to work it behind the scenes. We'll let the powers that be do their thing, satisfied in the knowledge that we've given it all we can as fans. Lesser fandoms have gotten more, so I still think our chances are pretty good despite the complications we've had to deal with over the past year.

Savethescc isn't going anywhere, though. We'll put our energy toward planning a TSCC con next.

NO FATE

I am feeling generous, please let me know if nothing turns up in a few days.
I was given this response: aelysian@savethescc.com
No doubt I will get access to pictures or something when you kick down the WB doors to meet their very friendly receptionist - yes I heard about her.

"Anyone seen any pictures or anything of the Billboard at Comic Con? I was really hoping to know how things went there."
Bear McCreary tweeted that he saw the billboard while at Comic con and heartedly agreed to bring it back.
He put together some good music for the show that was an excellent tribute to the music of the first two films.
If we get that DVD movie, I hope they bring him in to continue his excellent composing.

Thanks to kaotic on the blue wiki who had the full quote of Bear McCreary.
Via Twitter, bearmccreary: "Saw a "Bring Back Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" truck in San Diego yesterday. Couldn't agree more!"

I found the picture that was on twitter on Friday, that showed the rolling billboard in San Diego for Comic Con.
