LionsGates bidder for TSCC-Is it good for TSCC and Terminator world?
Jan 24 2010, 10:20 AM EST
LionssGate bid $15 million in cash plus 5% of gross receipts from any future "Terminator".LionsGates is a Canadian company but right now with headquartered in Santa Monica, California, It is a small studio that have been growing every year. Good because LionsGate is really good with cost; they make movies with low cost. A big problem of TSCC and T4 was WB cost 3 million for episode and 200 million for movie…. With Lion Gate TSCC cost for a DVD movie or TV Show will be low = for a Terminator Movie. For Example Daybreakers – Budget 20 Million http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daybreakers Saw VI – Budget 11 million http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saw_VI For LionsGate make some million with more TSCC is something really good, Because Lion Gate is small… It open doors for: TSCC Tv Show with change to have more rating and with low budget (small) TSCC DVD movie / TV movie / Maybe Box office movie with low budget TSCC NOVEL or Books TSCC comic or Manga TSCC Manga Movie / Animation Movie (TSCC is popular in Japan) Bad Because For make anything with TSCC Lionsgate need to make a deal with WB…. It could be hard LionsGate have right now many projects and any project with TSCC must have a good profit to be pick.. What are your Opinions my Wiki Friends? New data. Do you find this valuable?

I think the key is how much it costs to make a "good" TSCC series. TSCC has some special effects, prosthetics and explosions and such, but not really a whole lot of it, and some special sets.So much of what I liked about the series was provided by the acting and writing. If you get good people and be smart about what you're doing, you don't need to spend a lot of money. A low budget approach could put the series back on the air without really compromising quality. This contrasts with what we had before with a high budget approach that couldn't pay for itself. For T5 and T6, I personally think the story is critical. The Terminator premise does not need to have huge special effects; the action can be human-scale. Just look at T1 -- a real work of art without much more than prosthetics and one exploding tanker truck. At the other end of the scale, you could have more of T4. Exotic sets, lots of explosions, and all kinds of robot getups (Harvester, T600 endos, T800 endos, flying HKs, flying prisonor transports, hydrobots, motobots, geez.) Not that I didn't enjoy seeing all those robots, but much of it wasn't necessary for the story development, meager as THAT was. I felt that T4 was given too much budget and felt obliged to spend it all. So, yeah, maybe it is better that LionsGate gets TSCC. Better a lower budget series on the air than a high budget series that stays canceled. Do you find this valuable? |

For Example LionsGate make SAW 7... If LionGate get Terminator Right I believe that we will get many Terminator Movies with low budget and Nice Profit for LionsGate. No big explosion or big robots but nice action in T1 way. ( I hope some good plot too) Do you find this valuable? |

It did not cost WB 3m an episode to make TSCC or 200m to make T4. It cost the Halcyon company those sums. WB did pay for the rightsto distribute both within the USA. The Halcon Company paid WB rent to use their facilities.LionsGate have bid for future Terminator films and TV shows etc, not existing ones. T:SCC is an existing show. It still will remain Halcyon 's. A new TV show would put the finalnail in T:SC's coffin. There'd be no chance of it coming back. if Lions Gate were successful in buying the Terminator franchise future rights and it did want to bring T:SCC back, it could, if it struck a deal with Halcyon. WB's distribution rights probavly revert back in the event a year goes by without any original terminator show being aired in the USA. it cold be made for 1m an episode shot in Canada.Halcyon's unlikley to bring T:SCC back themselves. I.e., the winning bidder has no dibs on continuing DVD and Blu-ray sales. I did not think this prevents them from producing a TSCC third season using existing characters and story. Just like they can make T5 based on all that has gone before. Do you find this valuable? |

Bartleby was owned by the Halcyon Comapny and Halycon Co bought throught T Asset Acquisition the rights to Terminator Franchise from C2.T:SCC is an existinfg show. By definiton it is not a new show. The characters are part of the Terminator Franchise, though there's some concern from those who may acquire the rights thathese revertback to James cameron in 2019. Lawyers are apparently at work ... WB Tv Show cost more (California / USA Cost)... But this is true only WB and Halcyon know how was in control of TSCC Cost... It is a business secret :-) Halcyon is selling terminator right for all new terminator product (my data for a few newspaper) It mean New Terminator Movies, New Terminator TV Shows, New Terminator Books... and New TSCC DVD/TV movie, New TSCC Episode..... A new series of an existing show is not a new TV show. A new T:SCC seepisode or t:SCC DVD movie is not part of the deal that deals with new future product only.It cost Halcyon Co 3m an episode to make series 2/season 2 of T:SCC. How much WB paid to distributethe rights, how much Halcyon paid in rent to WBs, and how much Fox paid for each episode isn't known . It did leave Halcyon' $20m out of pocket. James Middleton ExecutiveProducer for T:SCC employed by Halcyon put thte T:SCC DVD together. WB had no input into its content.. Don't letthe badge on theDVD fool you. Do you find this valuable? |

IF they sell this ******* story, you don't think that they sell ALL developed characters? ;-) OR, what they sell? A story about robo-sapiens who want to destroy the mankind? BSG, anyone? :P Do you find this valuable? |

"A new series of an existing show is not a new TV show. A new T:SCC seepisode or t:SCC DVD movie is not part of the deal that deals with new future product only.Peace Any new terminator movie need old terminator characters.... Any new terminator movie will be a continuation of old terminator movie Any new TSCC Movie / episode need old terminator characters.... Any new TSCC Movie / episode will be a continuation of TSCC TV SHOW-- Lion Gate problem is that WB own some TSCC characters... They need to make a deal to make more TSCC but maybe WB or SONY will buy TSCC... Everyone can still bit about TSCC cost 3 million, Fox, WB rights I have litle data... I believe that 3 million cost is too much because I never see 3 million for episode in my TV ( something smell bad) I need solid data to say that Halcyon make 20 million with TSCC, I only have weak data My good news,,, I have a lot of data that say TSCC DVD / BLU RAY sale really good in the world.. We have a great chance of a DVD movie. Do you find this valuable? |
