i sat on a production set recently chatting with a young sci-fi terminator fan who shared the thread of the remaining shows in the second series. lo and behold i have since discovered that my assumption that the series would simply continue into the future came to an abrupt end when visiting this site and finding out that the 3rd series has been 'canned'. is this still a fact?

Yes, the series was canceled after two seasons. Born to Run was the last episode. There was some talk of making a direct-to-disc movie, which would have been nice to tie up loose ends. That talk has quieted as the holder of much of the Terminator license, Halcyon, has declared bankruptcy and is in the process of auctioning off its Terminator rights. There is a web site that is attempting to revive interest in producing TSCC: http://www.savethescc.com/ They seem to be doing good work. You may wish to join them in support of continuing the series.
