There is nothing wrong with Terminator Salvation i mean you lot wanted CB on as John Connor we got him, personally i think the script for Salvation was great better then T3, but looking at it now T3 was an alright movie. I mean if you have watched the notes on the blu ray edition MCG even says that there where some bits that he wishes he could improve on but there is a thing called the budget of making the film and paying the cast and crew. Personally i think the film was awesome and i have had chance to watch the films from the start to the finish including the series and i can not see anything wrong with it. So you know give them a chance to express the future war in there own way James Cameron explained the Terminators coming from the future now MCG wants the war that explains all of what James has done.

SO GIVE THEM A CHANCE

well not saying Sal was not a good movie, but it seemed like John was lowranking officer that was seen as a prophet by the people, but barely trusted by the officers, then the end of T3 he more or less to command to unite the scattered forces. well not sure hw long they had fought but to me it seemed a little like the Resistance at the beginning was a little to well equipped(not so much the weapons, but more the helicopters and such)

and well I guess I just prefer the TtSCC:-)

This thread is absolutely stupid. I mean.. STUPID.

Seriously? NOTHING is wrong with Terminator Salvation? Are you freaking serious??

Not one tiny itty bitty flippin thing is wrong?

Wow. O-Kaaaaaaay. If that's what you think. Whatever floats your boat..

Other people don't. Other people saw a lot of flaws and problems with it. You don't like their opinions? Get the **** over it.

"GIve them a chance" ?? Really? I think by the very nature of watching Terminator Salvation at all is giving them a chance. They already got a chance.

Salvation is a good movie.
Salvation is a good fantasy movie.
Salvation is a good stupid fairy-tale fantasy movie.

There is nothing to think about in Salvation.
There is nothing to be inspired with in Salvation
There are no technical details to get you interested in Salvation.

Salvation doesn't make any contribution to the T-Universe.
Salvation is a ten thousands worse Terminator movie than T3.
Salvation is stupendously stupid stupidity stupidness, even stupider than Transformers.

Salvation is NOT a Terminator movie. It shouldn't be compared to T1-TSCC, but to empty summer blockbusters put into bright cover like Transformers. Why talk about it on Terminator forum?

Great action.
OK acting.
Bad story writing.

I enjoyed sitting through the screening watching it as a summer action movie with lousy plot.

As a point of personal preference, I happen to like battle scenes. Ever since seeing the few future war scenes in T1, I had hoped for more battle scenes between Resistance fighters and robots. T4 gave me a big helping of guns, robots, explosions, etc. Great fun!

Just imagine what a truly great movie it could have been with a more thoughtful script.

Hopefully, T5 will be more thoughtful.

Yep, I agree with this.

It was a summer action movie. I was entertained for my ticket money and I own it on DVD and play it when I want to see something like a war movie.

It is about on a par with 'The Thin Red Line' staring Nick Nolte which I also own on DVD except for the obvious science fiction aspect.

I think the console game looks fun too. Lotsa weapons, encounters with unstopable Terminators, mission to save your buddies, flying HK's, grenades, whoa.

This isn't even a question about budget, they had TONS AND TONS of money. I gave them a chance by paying for my movie ticket and seeing the damn thing in theaters (even when it got bad reviews) and I just could not like it no matter how hard I tried.

T:SCC was made with a MUCH MUCH smaller budget! And it's about a billion times better! Yes, i'm bitter, but either way, T:SCC is here for T4 to be compared to and it just doesn't hold up.

They lacked a compelling story and compelling characters (other than Marcus and maybe Kyle). Basically they're missing the very fundamentals of a good movie.

I've nitpicked/complained about parts of T:SCC too, so i'm sure as hell not going to give T4 any leeway. I'm not going to say T4 was a good movie because they "tried" because in the end it WASN'T GOOD. (IMO)

Advice from a gamer, if you're planning on picking up the T4 game, either rent it or get it cheap, because it's too short to be worth full retail price. :P

Heh, like I said in that "Why do people hate T4 NOW? Thread, a lot of people loved it when it first came out! A lot of people, (like Schmacky) changed their opinions after some thought, or the people that liked it just left.

Of course, there are some people here that still really enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with that. :P

I agree there is nothing wrong with having enjoyed T4. I enjoyed it myself, even though just a high budget thrill ride special effects over the top action Summer blockbuster, and not exactly as something deep, thought-provoking and meaningful like T1 and T2.

Even for those who changed their minds over time from reading other people's opinions, this thread is waaaay long after it's due time. Everything possible has been said and re-said about the movie already.

I sorry but Terminator Salvation has many things wrong

I have Critic taste, I believe like most critics that salvation have a really weak plot

Terminator Salvation is full of mistakes like a huge Robot walking to a gas station and nobody listening the Robot...
A HUGE ROBOT!!!!

As an action film, T4 was okay. Beautifully shot. Great CG effects, but the story was mediocre. It was like watching video game in which someone else was playing. Also the story added nothing to the Terminator mythology. We didn't have to see John Connor's slow rise to leadership. Something like that could have been shown in flashbacks as he meets other leaders in the resistance during a major war. The story just rehashed previous themes. You have to build on established canon, not retell it. That was one good thing about T3, it was its own story building on T2 & T1 without regurgitating old themes.

Action: 5 Stars
CG & other special effects: 5 stars
Cinematography: 4 stars
Story: 2 stars
Terminator Ranking: 1 out of 5 stars

I bought the DVD, not because I liked the movie, but just to complete my library of Terminator Films and TV episodes. TSCC by far and wide had the better stories and is the best successor to T1 & T2.

The Harvester arrived at the garage while riding on the prison transport. The transport arrived quietly, with only a faint vibration which Star detected while the old woman was talking to Marcus.

You could see the flying machine in the background and taking off later.

Presumably, the Harvester only needed to take one step to get out of the transport and attack the garage.

So it's possible, but I hate having to make excuses for the movie like this.

Terminator Salvation is a brilliant film it may not have the edge and the hype like the original two masterpieces but it is a brilliant film in its own right.

It continues the saga pretty well even though some scenes could have been explained a little bit in more depth but they did capture what the title of the movie said salvation that what the theme of the film was that how most of the film was directed to the character Marcus Wright.

I know that john Connor never appeared much in the movie but it was good to see that he was not the key role of a terminator movie it was a another character that go the chance. It was great to see younger Kyle thought in all his glory and the events that were transpiring up to the first Terminator movie.

I think it was not the strongest of the four movies soon to be a fifth movie which is scheduled for its release in the cinemas 2011 but it will be good to see the movie set in modern day London.

So yeah I think salvation deserves a chance because it is a brilliant movie in terminator history and it stamps its mark in its own kind of way.
