NEWS: Jonathan Jackson (Kyle Reese) land part on General Hospital

The actor who plays Kyle Reese on the show has apparently returned to the daytime Soap Opera General Hospital. He's reprising a role he previously held (another actor has been playing the part in his stead).

Daytime Soap actors make significantly less money than Primetime actors. It's a steady job for the guy, but it's a step back in his career. Actors like to use these as stepping stones to things greater, not as permanent fixtures.

I'm glad the guy's getting some work, but this isn't a good sign for his overall career. Does mean he'll likely jump at the chance to reprise his Kyle Reese role though... Do you find this valuable?

I came across this info too while perusing the web last night. Like you said, it's never a good sign for an actor to go back to a soap, but at least he's getting some work. Do you find this valuable?

I guess your mom never watched GH huh?

My mom did, all the females in my family did. The show is extremely popular and has been on for over 40 years. His coming back is huge, huge fan fave. I watch that soap religiously and have no problems admitting it, me and my dad watched it with her. Its like a family thing. His coming back is great, he is the best Lucky he made the character the new guy sucked and I am glad to see him go and glad to have Jonathan back.

As for him playing Kyle again...a gentle reminder, the show is done. And what's better sitting around waiting for it to come back or moving on with this life? He wasnt a main character anyway.

It's not about Season 3. More about one of the actors taking a step BACKWARDS in his career. That's what returning to a soap really means for this guy. His agent told him there are no roles available in Primetime that are any good, so he's taking a job that's steady but low paying work.

It doesn't matter that GH is a big daytime show. The actors get paid beans. All soap actors do. Do you find this valuable?

Well I'm glad he has work, but it's also a little sad that he took a step back in his career.

One good thing is, I don't think working on GH, would affect him playing Kyle Reese on a DVDM if The WB does decided to make one. Do you find this valuable?

To use a sports analogy, this is like getting sent down to the minors again when you're called up to the majors and you flop. Barring a miracle, you'll likely spend your career in the minors, even if you perform well at Double or Triple A. Get the picture?

For those who have no idea how baseball and the farm system works, just ask me. It's an American thing. Do you find this valuable?

Again whatever you say man. You gotta get me the long list of gigs Jackson has wracked up since he left GH all those years ago. If you think this is a demotion for him your entitled to that. But again he was huge on that show, the fans want him back, and steady work is better then the nothing he was getting before. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I knew that he was on the show but I didn't know he won some Daytime Emmys in the past. Good for him. He was in my favorite episode of Night Visions. Do you find this valuable?

My mom is very happy about this. She's a big GH fan. Jonathan Jackson started pretty young on the show and apparently was very good. She mentioned something about the old guy getting fired so Jonathan Jackson could come back.

Actually, the first time he was on TSCC I was like "he looks familiar..." but I couldn't place him. It was because my mom always taped GH and I'd catch bits of it when I was doing my homework at the dining room table. Do you find this valuable?

I agree that this is a plus for Jonathan Jackson career, because he got some work - even if it is no big project. TSCC was bigger but he was almost not present. He was only in a few episodes and hasn't had much to do in all of these. Take for example the finale: He was only on the screen for a few seconds.

S3 might have pushed his career - depending on the story line. But there is no s3.

Guess I'll have to start watching Soaps now! lol

He really loved playing Kyle! and was waiting for Season 3, but just never got the offer. He is the lead singer in a band with his brother called Enation, which I am a fan member of. I received this autographed photo of him, although I asked for a Kyle one, but he sent an email note saying how much he enjoys Terminator and playing Kyle and had a lot of fun with it.

Curse Fox! lol
