I'll start off. I really liked him in season 1.

It was fascinating to watch Agent Ellison slowly uncover the existence of Terminator's. Basically, a somewhat normal person gradually discovering a hidden world. His Christian faith was woven into the story very well, never over done or trivialised.

Ellison was cool, even though I hated him for digging up Cromartie. He was right in the end, though.

This. I was really intrigued when i first watched the Pilot. He just did it so well, especially when he interacted with John Henry and Catherine Weaver in Season 2

He changed a lot after the pilot. As soon as John, Cameron, and Sarah time jumped he became a different person as the events in his life such as his divorce and child loss played a major part to the development of the character. Richard showed this brilliantly as the show progressed as he transformed the man who was sarcastic and demeaning in the Pilot to the calm, curious, and trustworthy Ellison that followed. Richard T. Jones was an excellent character. A complicated guy with a strong moral center, and quite a backstory. I wish we could've seen more of him dealing with the divorce and loss of his child, and the role of 9/11 in all of this. The religious angle of the character worked very well. The Terminator movies defiinitely had their allegories and nods to Christianity, but TSCC through Ellison, expanded on it. A provocative and very cool parallel. Do you find this valuable?

I agree especially with the religious part. It's a hard thing to combine faith and sci-fi like that, just look at BSG where it failed IMO.

It would have been great to see him in season 3 when confronted with Weaver again.

The best was in Demon Hand, the dialogue between Silverman and Ellison that referred to a machine's hand as "The Hand of God" disturbing and powerful.

IMO, his best scene was when the HK attacked and they went down the stairs and Catherine said "Mr. Ellison, to the basement!" and he looks back like he was looking at Satan himself! *edit* I have never seen anyone that scared.

I liked his mellow reaction to everything. I almost forgot about the religious elements of the character. That was a nice ingredient to the whole story. Not overdone like someone else said, and it was really interesting that he used biblical concepts to teach John Henry. That was fascinating. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I thought that Jones did a terrific job in the show. He never overplayed his character, and the interweaving of his faith with the sci-fi elements was generally well done. Do you find this valuable?

Best scene by far ,damn I forget the episode. . . , but he walks in w/ his cup of coffee. CW looks over w/ John Henry, she ask him "where have you been?"
Ellison replies "Sleeping".

Not even Ellison in this story could receive a break from his boss.
Laughter.Still cracks me up to this day.

His character of Mike in "Why did I get married" (Tyler Perry. Billionaire) a complete 180 from the man of faith he played on SCC.

I think the thing I liked best about Jones is that he really played his character's faith well. All too often, these days faith is used to show someone to be crazy or a weak minded character.

Ellison was a character that actually managed to ground TSCC. In a greater sense, because looking at what he was finding, through the filter of his faith, lead such a believable gravity to the show's mythos, he simply made the show more real for many viewers.

He is an incredible actor. He made a very memorable character.

Agree. I have my issues w/ Faith. But love to hear about it. Its cliche these days to trash it without real base.

Too me the scene w/ him and his faith seemed to turn off very many. Maybe it was too mature or cut into someone elses time.
Shrugging. I wish they had not written his FBI cred off the character. The correlation between skynet. ziera corp, 3 dots_that_led_to_finding_Kaleba, could have been pretty intense if someone from the inside (government) was now aware of this ****** situation.

Yeah, he was teaching John Henry manners and such, which was cool and done professionally.
The government angle could have been even more interesting.
MO.

Plus, the public loves that double agent "24" type **** anyway.

The problem though, is that if he was still working within the FBI, loads of others would have eventually found out too. He can only get away with not documenting things for a while before others found out.

While I have no problem with that, it'd probably change the story in a way the writers wouldn't want to go.

I'm not really religious, but I like how Ellison has his faith to fall back on. The problem is, when he was in the FBI he had a certain.. charisma and drive about him. Now, all he has is his faith, whereas before, his faith was just one part of him. And he seems to be more, I dunno, down in the dumps?
