The Official John Henry Thread
Aug 11 2009, 12:21 PM EDT
I get first dibs....John Henry is great! John Henry is Savannah's friend! John Henry sees right through Catherine Weaver! John Henry's programming + Cameron's chip (with a little assist from Cromartie's body) will help John Connor save the world! In short, John Henry FTW!!! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Here's a thought:John Henry did what Sarah, John, and Cameron did in the pilot episode. He decided to stop running from Skynet's attacks in the present day, and start hunting it instead. How? By jumping into a future where Skynet does not know he exists. John was not supposed to follow him (only Catherine Weaver was); he was supposed to stay put, behave, and grow up into an adult John Connor... an adult John Connor whom John Henry might have been intending to meet in the future. What is certain is that in BTR, John Henry appears in all possible iterations of the future timelines (no matter what John's decision to stay in the present/go to the future was)... this sets up the premise that John Henry starts his work against Skynet in all alternate futures. Curiously, Weaver does not force Ellison to jump aboard the bubble, neither does she push John out of it (probably knowing full well that if he joined her, they would arrive in a future with no John Connor). Her possible reasons for doing so are many. Discuss.... Do you find this valuable? |

Possibly both Catherine and John Henry wanted to see what John's reaction to losing Cameron would be and how far he would be willing to go to get her back. John's wiliness to sacrifice everything for Cameron could be proof (to CW and JH) that a human/machine alliance could work. “He shoots…he scores!!!” Do you find this valuable? |

IMO, as she has seen the most out of the whole saga. - The fallibility of humans (The Jimmy Carter incident) - The morality of valuing human life (Dr. Sherman and Ellison) - The vulnerability and naivety of a child (Savannah... AND John Henry to a certain degree) - Parent/child love (replacing Savannah's mother, knowing about Sarah and John) - plus, she curiously misconstrues her understanding of this topic by declaring that JH is her's and Ellison's 'boy' - Human/machine love (Jameron, 'nuff said) Do you find this valuable? |

"I get first dibs....what? there wasn't an official John Henry thread. You forgot that he also sings well for a highly advanced AI computer. JH was really the best original idea anyone had in the series. Do I dare say even better than the unique special Cameron idea. Do you find this valuable? |

Cameron was a continuation of two ideas a buddy terminator form T2 and the TX from T3. So that character was not a new idea really. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Plus if you tie in Alison's back story it makes her even more complex. Do you find this valuable? |

For me, it was the JH story arc that brought me into being a fan, and Cameron just rounded it off for me. Do you find this valuable? |
