Great character. One thing I wish though is: I wish they would have shown Charlie fighting to the end, with guns blazing.

One thing I dont like, this is my view and opinion, no offense intended: I don't like the fact that Charlie threw away the bible in his dead wife's grave...like it was a piece of garbage. It shows he lost his faith. Now what I don't like is he die before he found faith again.

Now something else I like: Charlie did the most righteous thing any person can do, and that is he gave his life for another. :)

RIP: Charlie.

You see, love is much better than hate.

"Why was Charlie great to me? For a show where guys cried all the time. Charlie was a man about it. When his wife was kidnapped by Cromartie Charlie freaked out. called Sarah, But instead of letting Sarah hear him cry over the phone He did the manly thing. Charlie put Sarah on hold muffled the reciever and let one tear out. Just one. He Compossed himself and went back to talking to Sarah. Charlie was a mans man." 3  out of 3 found this valuable. True. Sometimes, when something really bad happens, we become angry with God, and sometimes we stay like that for awhile.

I am very sad for Charlie, he lost everything because he is a good person. Just like in real life...good people seem to always suffer.

I get very emotional when Charlie touches John shoulders and looks into his eye with caring. Even though John is not his son, you can see Charlie really loves him...and that is awesome and very emotional for me. I think Dean Winters did a great job there being able to get that emotional attachment with John to the audience.

What I liked about Charlie was that 10 years later, he knew when he was getting played. My favorite lines in the whole series, from the episode "To the Lighthouse":

Charlie: You like bouillabaisse?

John: I may, I don't know. What is it?

Charlie: It's French for fish soup.

John: Mmm... That's very good.

Charlie: Yeah? The secret's the fresh tomatoes. I grow 'em myself.

John: You grow tomatoes?

Charlie: Yeah, you think that's funny?

John: Don't you?

(More conversation.... Sarah walks in. Charlie gives the rest of the soup to John. More conversation. Sarah talks, Charlie makes an excuse for John to leave. John leaves.)

Sarah: (referring to the bouillabaisse) Smells good.

(Charlie gestures that there's no more)

Charlie: There's bread in the fridge.... peanut butter. Help yourself.

Fan-girl here:

I didn't like Dean Winters in Oz. He seemed nervous to me. I don't know, I just didn't like him.

BUT, in TSCC, he was very sexy. He really cared for Sarah and John. I didn't like his wife much, though. I thought it was funny when he called Cameron "little girl" in S1.

It seems, when I read the last couple of sentences of that dialogue, that Charlie sounds mad at Sarah. But when I was watching it, it didn't appear that way to me.

I guess this goes to show that simple dialogue alone doesn't always convey the full meaning, and needs the context of expressions along with the words to express the full meaning.

Charlie was one of the better characters that thsi show threw away. He was the one person Sarah could have opened up to, if she had let herself: he truley loved her and her son.

Charlie was John's anchor IMO. JC went emo once he didn't have Charlie around, and SC should have seen this coming. Charlie was someone not only John could talk to, but they had REAL communication, friendship and compassion for one another.

I think John loved Chalie as well.

Sarah got his wife killed then got him killed being stupid (or acting out stupid stuff written by show writers).

She would have been better bringing him into the circle as he was trained in first aid. He also caim to her aid at a moments noticed, after being ditched for several years. That says alot.

Yeah! I love that about this show. I think To the Lighthouse was probably my fave ep. for drama.

In that scene, I think Charlie was trying to be cold and terse with Sarah because she treated him like crap and wasn't very sensitive about Michelle dying. At the same time though, it also seems like he's past it, but doesn't want to admit it.

I liked the beginning of Mousetrap (well I liked the whole episode really), when Charley and Michelle were just looking at each other through the truck windscreen. No words, just looks of "Well, we gotta do this, let's try and make the best of it"

IMO, he was trying to be snarky when he told her about the bread and PB. Do you find this valuable?

LOL, that never occurred to me. Sadly for Charlie though, I don't think he had any such luck. I think the tension was there because Charlie thought Sarah was being playful when she made him feel the lump in her breast. I loved that scene. He he had the goofy smile until he realized it was cancer. Then he was like ".... oh."
