Joss Whedon likes TSCC

In an article at scifiwirehttp://scifiwire.com/2009/04/joss-whedon-what-it-will.php Joss Wheadon discusses what can be done to save Dollhouse. Here's where he states he likes TSCC: "Rumor is that Terminator, your lead-in, is essentially canceled. Does that give you any pause? Whedon: No. I mean, Terminator did very poorly. I don't know why. I love it. ......................" Do we give a rat's ass, is this interesting info? The rest of the article mentions stuff about lead-ins/timeslots/don't-know-why-we-have-bad-ratings/DVR, the usual. Do you find this valuable? |

Dollhouse tanking is not why TSCC has mediocre ratings. TSCC has mediocre ratings because it has NEVER had a proper lead in, and it was moved to the WORST weeknight for TV with the LEAST viewers to go around. Also, Dollhouse has potential to be good, but unfortunately unlike TSCC, it's produced directly by Fox and they botched up the first few episodes pretty good. Just like with Firefly, Fox didn't air the show's original pilot, and they also tried to push for more episodic episodes until about episode 5 or 6, when the show actually started getting good. :(Anyway, Joss Whedon gave us Firefly, Serenity, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and before TSCC, Firefly was pretty much my favorite scifi show ever, and it was Joss who discovered Summer Glau. Hearing that Joss likes Terminator definitely makes me happy, because in a way I almost wonder if the show would even exist in its current form if it weren't for him. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. i like for joss whendon for creating buffy and the awesome serenity/firefly i mean how could you not like the man responsible for bringing summer glau into the fold of acting. The only thing that bugs me is sometimes he says things that irate me one week her mocks tscc then the next week he is praising it what gives

Shaving and hitting the gym would help too. :-) I can really look at this situation from the perspective of Dollhouse fans. Their lead-in only boosts about 3.5mil Live+SD viewers. The ratings over the next few weeks will be quite interesting. Prison Break did slightly better than TSCC on Mondays, but too much sausage on the show for my taste (a male in the 18-34 demo). I wonder if the Crazy Sarah arc dissuaded viewers from both scifi shows. They were expecting action, not "OMG I see dots everywhere!", Sarah protecting transsexual UFO chasers, or having her dreams analyzed. Watching that particular episode would have cured anyone's insomnia. Do you find this valuable? |

I rather like the tone of this article.The same nice things that Fox said about Dollhouse (It's not just about Nielsen, they're fans, etc.) have been said about SCC too. Basically, if Joss has those reasons to be positive about all this, so do we... Do you find this valuable? |

i try to remain positive about this show every day it just gets harder and harder to try to help bring it back though most of the morons in America like reality crap like idol and dancing with stars(oh god) how can you compare and egotistical prick simon cowell gong "that was completely pathetic" every week to the tscc brilliance its beyond unforgivable

Didn't we squeak ahead of Dollhouse a few times in the ratings? If we're doing very poorly, then he's not doing a whole helluva lot better...

It's anyone's guess at this point."They were only doing *slightly* better and it's their first season whereas the during the second season, most shows tend to dip a bit in the ratings. Plus, they had a lead-in from a show with the same demo and niche. Do you find this valuable? |

TV is supported by advertising, and the first rule of marketing was written by P.T. Barnum when he said "There's a sucker born every minute." Advertisers know that idiots are far more likely to buy things than people who are thinking strait. For this reason, shows that appeal to the lowest common denominator are constantly going to be pushed for higher ratings - they know those "suckers" will be watching, and once you find one, you can sell him ANYTHING. Want proof of concept..? In recent surveys, a majority of Americans polled actually blamed advertisers for their high credit card balances. Yes, you read that right - these idiots are ADMITTING that advertisers on TV can basically talk them into buying crap they don't need and can't afford. Sad. Just sad. As long as this remains the case, the value of ad space during a show will always decrease based on the intelligence factor of that show. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

idols average intelligence 10-12 year olds who don't know what music is. Me on the other hand i know what music is guns and roses the old style band not the new one kings of leon, disturbed, nickelback the list of bands go on for greatness i love heavy metal and rock music it brings awesomeness see t2 with you could be mine video brilliant

Joss Whedon is a hack, he's always been a hack and he will always be a hack. And I wouldn't talk about our show doing poorly, Dollhouse wasn't exactly kicking the tires and lighting the fires, and If I am not mistaken they never pulled the ratings we did on Monday and people kept losing interest with them on Firday even after they sacrifice our show to protect his, so go suck on hard one Joss cause that's all your good for.

And no I dont remember her on Angel I didn't like that show either. To each his own about JW being a hack. You know where I stand, he is a loser, he's only had one show stand on its own and that was Buffy, Angel was a spin off and Firefly only had one season, it had a movie that was ok but that was it, Dollhouse is pure crap. 2 out of 2 found this valuable.
