1. RE: Story lines for the show

"Does anyone else think the writing for the show is a little weak? I love the show but am afraid it might get canceled if they don't pick up the action and story lines!"No. There are some seriously crazy ass stories going on here. And so many undertones. Maybe it needs more action. But then again, maybe they don't have the budget for all that action. Friedman said as much before. I know I've said it before and I'm sure a lot of people think it's either a) an excuse or b) said too many times BUT... This show was promoted as the wrong type of genre than what the show really is. It's been portrayed in advertising as an action show when it's not. I think it was a BIG mistake that the word Terminator was thrown into the title. I really do. That word just SCREAMS "action" and this show isn't action. It's drama with action in it at times. Remember that the network is the one that added "Terminator" to the title, not the creators of the show. So, they advertised to a bunch of action freaks when in reality the show is more drama. And what does that do? It makes those action freaks dissatisfied because they didn't get what they were promised. And that's understandable. At the same time since they advertised it as action, they scared away people that are more into drama and probably would have given this show a chance and stuck with it if it was advertised as a drama. It got screwed from the very beginning. It was mislabeled and now the writers, the actors, the crew, and the fans are paying the price for that. Do you find this valuable? |

Same here I don't think the writting is weak at all...its totally different to other shows. I can't see it being canceled not after the ratings they got from its pilot from season one...I mean I believe it was 18.3 million so alot lol its kicking more Ass than shows that started ok but are now simply shit like 'HEROES & LOST' Terminator I can see going on for another 3-4 season, fingers crossed.

I'd describe it as a sci-fi/drama. Hell, I'm an action junkie; I'm the kinda guy who likes to play Black Hawk Down at full volume. And I watched the show originally because I loved the movies. But even as an action junkie, I appreciate great storytelling and drama as well. And I prefer TSCC the way it is now than to have it as a pure action show, which would get old, fast. I think they had to have the word "Terminator" in there to attract people, really. They should still keep the name but advertise it differently. Well, hopefully, if FOX keeps it, they'll learn from their mistake. And if not, then someone like SciFi would likely handle the show much better anyway. Do you find this valuable? |

Though I think it was the wrong time to do them. Do you find this valuable? |

It's not getting even moderately acceptable ratings right now. Do you find this valuable? |

"What I meant was considering the pilot had the best viewings I don't think FOX will cancele the show cause of its weak writting"They would cancel the shot due to low ratings and loss of advertising dollars because of low ratings. Not because the writing was weak. Do you find this valuable? |

I do agree with what some say about the show not being action, but being advertised as such. The real problem with that is sci-fi never gets taken seriously in that catagory. Special effects, action maybe but not usually for drama. There are too many other shows that draw advertising dollar. Keep in mind the baby-boomer generation is the largest and they make up a big segment of tv watchers. Advertisers want shows that they are watching. This is not one of them. I love it. I am just screaming now in hopes that there will be a season 3. I think if more people on here spoke up we wouldbe heard!JOIN THE RESISTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you find this valuable? |

I guess for me really the problem was the crazy sarah stretch and the Friday night slot. The past few episodes were great! I am just worried it's too late. The question I have is ; do you think it would be harder on Sarah going through this or John. I mean John is a kid and he has been targeted from birth. Sarah is a Mom who's son could be killed at any moment by a machine. Tough on both sides but there is just so many possibilities for this show to expand on. Let's face it john could have some real issues growing up .

"No.Dear Scmacky, I am happy to tell you the "big mystery" behind why the show is off its Terminator game has been revealed. Go to the thread on the Wired article on Josh F. and see for yourself. I won't spoil it for you, but it explains alot! I for one, feel better knowing this, and think JF should have told us (much) earlier. In doing so, I think we would have rallied behind him and supported him in his efforts. Not knowing this, we largerly come away felling WTF? even when we enjoy the show. It'll all make sense. And I know you give a damn, which is why I'm sharing. Do you find this valuable? |
