Under Lock-Down
Jan 8 2009, 5:34 AM EST | Post edited: Jan 8 2009, 5:34 AM EST
Dear regulars,

since someone thought it would be funny to wreck this page and invade our turf, I have decided to put the chat room under lockdown again. I'm sorry, EEL, if this means you cannot get in, but I don't need this crap to be happening, just because a n00b to the play doesn't want to understand the rules. I have very much enjoyed playing with all of you. But until I or we find a way to secure the lines and can guarantee the mutual respect that room was build upon, I have made it password protected again.

"you lock it,how can ? not sound good ! you seems so serious !"
I am serious and was this close to removing the page alltogetherm but a lock-down is the option inbetween. There's a group of regulars who come to role play (DESTINYSARA, EELMAN007, SarahWannabe, PureSerenity) practically every day, and it wouldn't be fair to them if I removed it completely, So I chose a middle ground.
It's cowardly behavior if not completely childish to erase an entire page, change the name of the page and leave a nasty note under an alias you created just for that purpose. DES and I, and now SW, have kept this a clean room where the somewhat weirder of us come to role-play and hang out without clogging up the main chat room until last night,
I am thankful though for SW's swift reaction, Pure's sweet attempt to keep the nasty message from reaching my eyes and Wild-Kat's restoration of the page. Thank you, guys. It's very much appreciated.

Very serious. He ruined a lot of hard work that Inst and DES put into that page. Not only that, it's not just the work, it's what they've created. Do you find this valuable?

Man, I didn't even know there was a chat room. I'll have to check that out when it gets going again. But when you say lock down, does that mean it can't be accessed at all until the problem is fixed?...Sincerely hope everything gets better. :)

a fan fiction chat room..somebody shoulda told me. Guess it comes with being new.

This is also the first I've heard it Pharazon, and I've been here forever.

Hope you guys get everything fixed. I know how it only takes one A-hole to ruin it.

@ Pharazon & Birdman, the Fan Fic Chatroom has been around since August of last year since we did not want to hog the main chat room as the new season was fast approaching. The room can be accessed but only by password, which kind of makes it invite only.

Someone commented in the main chat room that there are quite some stringent rules and that most major characters are taken. Well, we have been playing in there for the past 5 months, the major characters are bound to be taken. That's why it enraged me that someone 'stole' another regular's character. If it had been asked, we would have conferred about it and would most likely have said "Yes, okay for the time being, but when the other comes back, ask that person".
Maybe we're a bunch of sticklers, but we would like to keep track of who is playing who to avoid any misunderstandings.

French, you would need the password to enter it through Meebo, but given the recent events we keep it down to handing out the passwords to the people who come here to play practically everyday. It's nothing against you or anyone else who has good intentions but we need to rebuild what was destroyed first.

Whoever thought it was cool to change the original tags to "aThis is f**ked up, don't chat, in the chat area, it private, SELFISH FREAKS", why on earth did you change it? Were the original tags not sufficient enough? I will set them back to the original keyword tags and changes like that do not contribute to the decision to possibly unlock the room again.
The one responsible has done a lot of damage to our playground, and we want to feel secure enough again before we consider opening up the place again. This Room has been around since August 12th of last year. The regular participants have contributed greatly to the environment and ease with which the game was played. Now we all stare at the screen when it's our turn, thinking if we can actually do that.
So once again, thank you whoever it was that thought it was necessary to run this relatively safe place for play. And yes, that is sarcasm.

Hopefully it has been around since much more longer than august.
Hope you will resolve these problems with a steel hand, Inst.

Good luck.

So now it has been decided. This room will be locked down indefinitely within the next 24 hourrs. After opening it up again to encourage play, it has been proven that people will just do whatever they want and disregard the rules. This might just have been a small incident compared to what happened earlier this month, but it is obvious people don't give a **** about rules.

To all who have come to play here over the past few months: thank you. I have enjoyed almost every minute of it.
The roles in the room were played by:
DESTINYSARA a.k.a. Amy Adams, Catherine Weaver & Cameron Phillips
SarahWannabe a.k.a. Carrie Porter
EELMAN007 a.k.a. Fitzy, Charlie Dixon, James Ellison & Derek Reese (II)
Stampguy a.k.a. Derek Reese (I) & the Bedels
PureSerenity a.k.a. Riley Dawson & Lauren Fields
InstantEntertainment a.k.a. John Connor, TJ Devlin, Tyler Devlin & Sarah Connor.

It has been a great time with you lot of regulars. Maybe we will find another way to continue this play but until then: Goodbye.

I'm not sure why your telling the public forum about your private chat, or that is it public but you don't want anyone to join?
You were made a mod originally because you complained of vulgar chat, and maybe minors were there correct?
Then regulars started role-playing and one day people started naming themselves people from the show and you password protect the chat because their not allowed to do that?
Did you make it public again?
And now you are announcing the dissolve of it why? Could you not leave the chat room there and just not participate?

@ Accept, check first which chat room this is about. This thread is on the Fan Fiction Chat room page, not the Fan Chat Page. DES and I created the FF Chat Room because we did not want to hog the main chat room (as we call it). That is what this is about, not the main.
Anybody was free to join that rpg. The only thing we asked was to comply with the rules DES and I came up with. After someone was so nice to wreck the page, I threw the FAN FICTION chat room into lock-down, which did us more harm than good. It killed the play. I opened it up again recently to test the waters but I see no point of keeping it on when the rules are nothing more than 'amusement'.
As for moderation of the main room, I would never lock it. That will be up to the moderators and administrators of the Wiki if the situation calls for it. I'm only there to keep things in check.
So in short: This is about the fan fiction chat room, not the main T:TSCC chat room.
