Creating a set chat schedule, need volunteers for topics and moderator
Dec 5 2008, 10:10 AM EST
What do other feel about creating a set chat schedule with certain times being guaranteed to be moderated? Here are some topic ideas that I could think of.Monday 7:00pm - 10:00pm (eastern time) - Show discussion before, during, and after the show. Tuesday 7:00pm - 10:00pm (eastern time) - Slow motion repeat. People watch a scene as a group, discuss the scene, and then move onto the next scene. Sunday 7:00pm - 10:00pm (eastern time) Story line repeat. A show story line is choosen, people rewatch the scenes having to do with it, and then discuss it. IMO, it would be too difficult to guarantee 24/7 moderation, so a couple of set moderation times would be best. Then it becomes teaching the teens the difference between going to McDonalds at 4:00 pm to talk to your friends vs. going to McDonalds at 4:00 am to talk to your friends. One is a safe teen activity and one is not. mjn Do you find this valuable?

It might work for the U.S. chatters but this is an international Wiki with members from all over the world. I think that appointing mods from different (global) time zones who work in shifts of 2 persons will sort more effect.I would volunteer for a European time slot but fact is that I will be gone for a couple of weeks from next week on (from around Dec. 15th to Jan 15th) otherwise I would have taken it in a heartbeat.
