Blu-ray Special Features Request
Oct 16 2008, 11:23 AM EDT
I have a small request from those who have purchased the Blu-ray version of Season 1, or anyone who lives in America:There's a lot of features on the Blu-ray edition that aren't on the standard, such as extra deleted scenes and the extended "Demon Hand" episode. I haven't been able to garner any information on these features and I really want to know as much about them as possible. So, could someone please provide descriptions (and if possible) transcripts of the deleted scenes and the extended parts of "The Demon Hand". My curiosity is peaked in this regard and any help will be appreciated. And before you ask: buying the Blu-ray version would require me having to buy a Blu-ray player and an HDTV, which I can hardly afford for the sake of one DVD, even if it is TSCC. At a moment's notice, all I can say is, there are tons of stuff in here. You can still use a Blu-Ray player with a normal Standard Def TV, by the way. The player will optimize what it can show on the best on the TV. I haven't got a HD TV, but I can say that the Blu-Ray still shows excellent details on a standard TV. I bought the Blu-ray player for TSCC!!Demon hand extended version is around 8 minutes longer, plus extra scenes such as longer Sarah's tapes, Cammy's dance is longer, slightly longer scenes when Cammy thrashed the power plant, etc. However, since it is not a finished article, we see a lot of green screens where the special effects will be. A lot of scenes too do not have proper background music. A bit of a disappointment here. Only plus here would be more scene with Cammy in them. I don't know if there are Episode with Narration in the DVD, but there are in the Blu-ray version. S1E1, S1E9 and another episode which slipped my mind at the moment, has another version where the cast and/or producers sit in and Narrate the episode as it goes. Some funny stuff from Thomas here, and Summer too. I have sat through all these yet, so I can't really review. Delete scenes contain all those on Fox's website for Season 1. Another interesting one was Charley and John talking about John liking Cammy. There was another where Ellison had Carlos picked up and interviewed in the FBI office. Other stuff include Summer's dance rehearsal, which was a tat too short, a gag reel which is REALLY good, but just bloody 6 minutes, and cast photo shoot. There might be more, but I need to really sit through the entire Blu-ray again to recall. Bloody lot of stuff in there... Do you find this valuable? |

"Umm those are on MY standard edition..."There are two regular DVD editions, one of which has all of the special features on it. It's actually less common (for some inane reason...) for studios to put all of the special edition features onto the Blu-Ray version. T:SCC is an exemplary Blu-Ray - one of the first discs I got for my player and it was worth every penny. Do you find this valuable? |

In the rest of the world, the DVD don't have the special features. Only the US has the DVD with the special features.

You foreigners just don't get any love, do you? I know there usually is a good legal reason for non-US people getting screwed over, but that's silly they wouldn't put it in the standard def. Ploy for more money? Do you find this valuable? |

"You foreigners just don't get any love, do you?Actually, it's a money saving thing from what I heard. The British board that does the ratings (you know, the "appropriate for all ages above 15" stuff) also has to approve the extras and they charge by the minute of video. So, to save money, they simply don't include any extras that would need to be rated. Not sure if this is true, but it makes sense. I'm curious what will be on the German DVD, but who knows when that will be released. @Veran, some extras are on cameronandjohn.com. The Demon Hand extended cut... one word: bittorrent.
