When I read the possible answers I thought Val Kilmer would have been a great choice. Couldn't believe who was actually considered for the role though. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Actually, an unknown would make the best Terminator, assuming the movie had the budget and promotional advantages previous movies. I went down the list of actors and I just cannot see anyone "famous" playing this role.

Val Kilmer? He would have to lose about 75lbs. The guy has ballooned to historic proportions.
Clint Eastwood? Good in his day but his time has passed.
Vin Diesel? The guy was hot, but got hung up on his Riddick personna
Keanu Reeves? Would be too close to his robotic performance in the Matrix franchise (having said that, he was the perfect choice for the Matrix)

Matt Damon
Ben Affleck
Nicholas Gage
Jake Gyllenhall
Tobey Maguire
Colin Farrell
Jamie Foxx
Will Smith
Ed Norton (I am struggling with him as the "Hulk')
Joaquin Phoenix
Wesley Snipes (the best of the bunch)
Josh Harnette
Leonardo DiCaprio
Gary Dourdan (he of CSI)
Terrence Howard
Patrick Swayze
Kurt Russell
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Michael Jai White (played S.E.T.H. in "Universal Solder: The Return"

None of the above "major" stars seem to suit a Terminator role with the lone exception of Wesley Snipes and Michael Jai White.

You know, Arnold set the bar so high, I don't believe anyone will ever replace or equal his Terminator character.

Of course, they could always find someone in the WWE!

Me. I have autism and am a metalhead/goth and thus really really terminator-like. Apart from when I'm around my friends that's when I'm all friendly and energetic. But yeah, I'm practically a terminator already. I even scare chavs so they don't attack me. Awesome huh... Do you find this valuable?

The question was who WOULD have made a good Terminator. I agree with Kurt Russell and Mr. T. I'll have to think some more about the "great actors" of the early '80s to decide on anyone else. Do you find this valuable?

I think Mr. T is almost too awesome to be The Terminator. I think the awesomeness of Mr. T and the awesomeness of The Terminator would cancel each other out, although this does raise the important question, "Why are all the Terminators white?!" Do you find this valuable?

Van damme
maybe the guy who played data? :P
what about john travolta?
definitely NOT will smith...... i cant take that guy seriously, he belongs in comedy sci fi like MIB
terminators r suppose to be infiltrators, in north america, caucasian is the majority, so a white terminator should be easier to blend in.

Sorry, have to ask, who created these questions?I have always read that Lance Henrikson was asked to be the terminator. He took it so seriously that he went to a reading with bits of fake metal stuck to his skin. They then thought he was not threatening enough. They got some1 bigger.(Arnie).O.J. was only considered.

First time I ever saw Mr. T was on the finals of "America's Toughest Bouncer". What he did was pure Terminator. The final was a scenario where the bounce started behind the bar of a lounge and responded to a panic buzzer form the boss's office upstairs. Contestants had to move from behind the bar, through the table, up the stairs, through a door and press a button sitting on the boss's desk.

Mr, T's closest competitor ran from behind the bar, weaved through the tables, ran up the stairs, opened the door, ran to the desk an pushed the button.

Mr T, however, vaulted the bar, ran THROUGH the tables and chairs literally sending the flying, took the stairs in about 4 strides, ran through the door knocking it flat and dived to the button on the desk. This was not a man you wanted to mess with.

No.

OJ was was seriously offered the role. Lance was offered but they wanted OJ. After a number of focus groups, they decided that neither OJ nor Lance were the right choice. It also helped that Arnold read the script and wanted the Terminator role bad.
