  • Reference to TSCC on tv today I was watching Jeopardy today, and there came up a category titled "T.V. Moms." Then came up the clue... this FOX show "chronicles" the events in this mom's life..... answer :Sarah Connor.
Honestly I was suprised they mentioned TSCC, but all in all that really made my day.

  • Advertising of TSCC I'm just wondering if people think there could be changes with the way the show is advertised?
What I mean is, for example, I didn't start watching the series until s2 e3. Up until then I hadn't had much of a clue about Cameron other than Summer Glau was playing a terminator. Also had no clue as to the Cameron/John thing that was apparently made significant in s2 e1.
My impression of the show before watching it was that the primary focus would be mostly Sarah as well as her relationship with John, but for me Sarah doesn't really seem like the main character anymore and I think John is filling that role (though that could be a subjective interpretation).

So I guess my question is, do you think the show might be more successful if they played up the importance of John's character a little more? (I don't mean changing the name of the show, but maybe focusing more on him in the ads.) Or even if they played up the Cameron/John aspect of the show? (like if they had done that for season 1, since it seems to be less important so far in season 2.) Or even focusing a little more on Cameron?

(Of course, I'm aware that I'm posting this as we're nearing episode 4 which is kind of dedicated to Cameron...I guess my question is more regarding the promotion of the series itself, not just the individual episodes.)

Note: I'm trying my best not to offend anyone, because I do like Sarah's character. But I think I'm not alone in saying that sometimes I find other aspects of the show to be more interesting.

  • LionsGates bidder for TSCC-Is it good for TSCC and Terminator world?
"It did not cost WB 3m an episode to make TSCC or 200m to make T4. It cost the Halcyon company those sums. WB did pay for the rightsto distribute both within the USA. The Halcon Company paid WB rent to use their facilities.

LionsGate have bid for future Terminator films and TV shows etc, not existing ones. T:SCC is an existing show. It still will remain Halcyon 's.

A new TV show would put the finalnail in T:SC's coffin. There'd be no chance of it coming back.

if Lions Gate were successful in buying the Terminator franchise future rights and it did want to bring T:SCC back, it could, if it struck a deal with Halcyon. WB's distribution rights probavly revert back in the event a year goes by without any original terminator show being aired in the USA. it cold be made for 1m an episode shot in Canada.Halcyon's unlikley to bring T:SCC back themselves."
You think Halcyon paid Warner Brothers? What about Bartleby and C2?

I thought "existing shows" referred to the film library. I.e., the winning bidder has no dibs on continuing DVD and Blu-ray sales. I did not think this prevents them from producing a TSCC third season using existing characters and story. Just like they can make T5 based on all that has gone before.

  • io9: TSCC > Heroes
"Here's the same author on io9 holding TSCC and Caprica in equal regard.

    http://io9.com/5222085/robo+noir-caprica-is-religious-terrorism-done-right

Hear that, Fox? Someone on io9 is comparing TSCC to Caprica, the BSG spin-off. That's pretty headey company to be in, I think! (See what I did there? ;)"
TSCC is definately becoming a refrence for other shows to be compared to in scifi entertainment news. Is this a new trend; and, what does it mean?

  • A Companion Series for TSCC?????
"This seems a like a bizarre rumor; Fox hasn't fully committed to TSCC with a full 22 episodes and they're alrealy scouting for more SciFi? You'd think that they would make a more positive commitment to TSCC before attempting a whole 3 hour block."
Exactly, but its not a bizare rumor. The article I referenced on the first post is references "FOX":

    *********************
"Fox has also been discussing a companion series to SARAH CONNOR, with executives meeting with advertisers and considering scheduling scenarios that include the show. But no further information is known."
    *********************

FOX is acting like they committed to 22 episodes, not 13, and TSCC is their marquee scripted series.

There might be something going on in the back offices of FOX and WB that we are not privy to.

  • TSCC dangerous for Terminator Movies
"TSCC isn't dangerous for the movie franchise. McG, Brancato and Ferris are. Needless to say, I have lost all hope for a decent terminator film."
well said LOl his reference to superman movie being hurt by smallville, the problem was like T-4 superman movie was just poorly thought out and made, smallville had no impact on it other than positive. however if a tv show is better than the movie, the problem isnt the tv show it is with the people making the movie.
TSCC I think was better than T-4, much more intersting and a better cast.

    "Hello,

just a quick post to give you a link to TheWB.com website: http://bit.ly/11I5G2

Here is an opportunity to reply with a nice little message about anything you loved from T:SCC ... or even a Video reply :)

    Regards,

Those guys are just making the obvious pun of having two girls named "Summer" on two of their shows, because it's Summer now.
It's funny how they refer to TSCC as if it was still running. Anything goes to sell their product, even if it's an ex-one.
Talk about milking the dead cow.
    Just my take on it.

  • Last week To Save TSCC
"Options 3 and 4 I think work well. But I doubt that we should tell them what night to put the show on. If they are at the point of cancelling this show, I don't think they'd ever consider getting us a Monday spot. We'd probably be lucky to have a Saturday spot.

As for option 2, I think that even bringing in those stars would be too costly, even for short bits. They aren't going to want to spend that kind of money on a show with such low ratings."
Well, we don't *really* know that they *are* thinking of canceling us. That's just been "hearsay" -- at the most. The media is well-known for creating "buzz" that later turns out to be untrue. They want *readers/viewers* -- so, heck, they'll "make-up" the "news," if necessary.

I say "go for it." Lobby for Monday -- or any day other than Fri/Sat. And, get us a spot where we're not up against some "killer" show -- like "Lost," etc (or, amazingly, "Ghost Whisperer").

On 2).: IMHO, there is a "pride of authorship" amongst these T-people. And, I think they want TSCC to be successful. So.. maybe "cameos," even, for cheap bucks. But.. the issue is -- regardless of the duration of their appearance -- the promotion of this indicates to people that those stars are "behind" us. Gets John Q. Public to watch TSCC.

  • Joss Wheadon likes TSCC Dollhouse tanking is not why TSCC has mediocre ratings. TSCC has mediocre ratings because it has NEVER had a proper lead in, and it was moved to the WORST weeknight for TV with the LEAST viewers to go around. Also, Dollhouse has potential to be good, but unfortunately unlike TSCC, it's produced directly by Fox and they botched up the first few episodes pretty good. Just like with Firefly, Fox didn't air the show's original pilot, and they also tried to push for more episodic episodes until about episode 5 or 6, when the show actually started getting good. :(

Anyway, Joss Whedon gave us Firefly, Serenity, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and before TSCC, Firefly was pretty much my favorite scifi show ever, and it was Joss who discovered Summer Glau. Hearing that Joss likes Terminator definitely makes me happy, because in a way I almost wonder if the show would even exist in its current form if it weren't for him.

  • a hint about the future of TSCC
    "Dude. Beggers can't be choosers.

If the hypothetical first one does well there could be more."
I've already told it in the previous thread. It's not guaranteed that sells of single DVD movie will be as crazy as sells of the whole TSCC season. And they might kill the show by only one unsuccessful movie. We've already seen, that they can do such movies even with high production budget. And one movie just doesn't give you a chance to correct mistakes like show does, when you see, that you go in wrong direction and can change something in next episodes. So, putting hopes on one DVD movie is like put a high stake on just one shot, which must appear 100% precise.
Of course, I will be happy if we get at least a movie. But we shoudn't be satisfied with it and shouldn't stop our "save TSCC" activity only because of it. This is my point of view.

  • TSCC advertisers contact information I was asked to repost this so here we go. This took a while to find but here is a list of some…not all (I’m still looking for a few) of the advertisers who are airing commercials during TSCC. We got some top notice ones. Let them know you watch TSCC and that you see their commercials during the show. Even if you watch live, see the product placement, fast forward or DVR it…you still see them. So it cant hurt.
Wow some companies do not make it easy to contact them. Some play hide and seek on their websites while others have easy contact info and others don’t. So I hope this helps. I tried to make the contact links as easy as possible. I really hope this helps.
Go forth and spread the TSCC love!!!! Lets go get that Season 3!!!

The WB on DVD you can tell them you have the TSCC S1 DVD, you can’t wait to order S2 DVD and you really want a Season 3.

  • TSCC Episodes Less Serialized Having only 13 episodes to tell an incredible complex storyline is hard enough. But to add self contained stories in this shorten season may dirupt the shows flow. Other scifi shows like Lost and X-files can get away with stand alone episodes, because they had much longer seasons to tell their stories in. TSCC, on the other hand, would be better served to have a tight, linear storyline, rather then verging off randomly in certain epidsodes.

"A 2 parter. In it, you will see my fight to protect the S2 DVDS. You will see my reaction to Summer's reference in the S&D commentary.

And you will see the bucket come off my head.

    PART ONE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI1jcMbiyMU

    PART TWO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNvBrm4rmfg"
    LOOOOOOOOL!!!

Also liked the references to the show, I love that kind of stuff.

Like usual you have nothing to contribute. Still angry over the fact I was right about TSCC way back when. Look at the AJ page 85. There for all to see.

I'm only submitting a tie-in for the show. You are just a freaking moron who can't see what's right in front of him. I pwned you way back when, get over it already.

  • The worst Episode of TSCC thread Desert Cantos was easily my least favorite.

We have so many scenes that accomplish nothing, why do we even see a funeral for someone we didn't know and meet people who contribute nothing

We see flashbacks that we don't need to see

    Dead cows? WHY?

Terrorist group? Her dad breaking in or something? Don't care really, have ideas next time writers.

We just confirm that an HK was there at the end, which really is dumb, this is the year 2009, I played a game eleven years ago with massive capital ships, dog fights, epic space battles, interesting story, and so on

Lena-I've had better, but we can just look online if we want to look at her, her character isn't interesting in this, and we only get a few glimpses of Cameron basically

Some Must Watch was a little better, but essentially amounted to nothing, I barely even remember how it ended she's just "You're real" then runs off

The only funeral scene in my favorite sci-fi show was about 3 minutes total for a character we loved which really told a lot about the other characters while being a much more interesting and entertaining episode, the funeral scene told us what we wanted to know from people we know, without telling us what we didn't care about

  • regligious references Religious references have always been used in different entertainment medias, lots of books, music, etc. I'm not religious- at all. But it's very good stuff to pull from because a lot of religious things carry, deep, strong meanings and messages. You know, the stuff that sends chills down your spine. This show uses them for that effect and I actually think that Elison is THE strongest/most interesting character on the show because of it.
