I'll start. I'm a 26/27 year old Ph.D student in Microbiology, didn't become a TSCC fan until halfway through the second season and now I'm hooked. Favorite character is Cameron but believe it or not I'm actually not a shipper (please hold your slings and arrows, I can explain my position but that's outside the purpose of this thread). I'm also a baseball/Xbox fanatic."

"I noticed while writing my fan fic that I had a moment of "Oh so this is what it feels like to push the envelope". I think that is why you get some phenomenal stories like "Adam Raised Cain" and "Born to Run" and some okay episodes like "some must watch while some must sleep". This also explains why you can get break out stories like "The Matrix" and have absolute flops like "The Shadow". There's a definite technique to pushing the envelope to a point that is believable and intriguing for the reader/watcher but if you go just a little to far you jump the shark and at that point nobody believes it. I'm currently going through some of that with the current chapter I’m writing. I have a MAJOR plot twist coming up but I paced around for hours thinking about if I wanted to do it or not and if people would like it and if it would work in the story.

We also have to contend with the issue that most of us that are writing fan fic’s are doing it alone. TSCC had what, like 6 writers or something? While some people may forget certain parts of the story or plot others may not and they can play off of each other. Doing it alone adds a whole new degree of challenge to things.
