n 1972, Winston established his own company,Stan Winston Studio, and won anEmmy Awardfor his effects work on the telefilmGargoyles. Over the next seven years, Winston continued to receiveEmmynominations for work on projects such asThe Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman. Winston also created theWookieecostumes for the 1978Star Wars Holiday Special.

Winston reached a new level of fame in 1984 whenJames Cameron'sThe Terminatorpremiered. The movie was a surprise hit, and Winston's work in bringing the titular metallic killing machine to life led to many new projects and additional collaborations with Cameron. In fact, Winston won his firstOscar for Best Visual Effectsin 1986 on James Cameron's next movie,Aliens.

James Cameron drafted Winston and his team once again in 1990, this time for the groundbreakingTerminator 2: Judgment Day.T2premiered in the summer of 1991, and Winston's work on this box office hit won him two moreOscarsforBest Makeup Effectsand Best Visual Effects. Then Winston turned his attention from super villains andcyborgstodinosaurswhenSteven Spielbergenlisted his help to bringMichael Crichton's Jurassic Parkto the cinema screen. In 1993, the movie became a blockbuster and Winston won another Oscar for Best Visual Effects.

At the time of his death, Winston was working on the sequelTerminator Salvation. According to reports, next for Stan Winston wasJurassic Park IV. Winston was also signed on to help with the monster effects forThe Suffering, an upcoming action-horror film to be based on theMidwayvideo games. Winston designed the original monsters that appeared in the gameThe Sufferingand its sequel,The Suffering: Ties That Bind, He also helping with old friend director, James Cameron and his upcoming filmAvatar

As we all know last year the Terminator and its many of fans lost a great Fan of course Stan Winston and with out Stan Winston the Terminator would not be here with us today so here is a page on the wiki dedicated to him and to say thank you for such a awesome job with Terminator 1 & Terminator 2: Judgment Day and all the rest of the films that you have work so hard on so here is page dedicated to the man himself if you have any thing to add to the page the link is here:
