Yay go Lena! Woop woop.

I think we've had threads like this before but once they get pushed back a couple pages it's so hard to find them.

I totally agree she IS more Sarah Connor to me than Linda Hamilton is. I told Lena that at Comic-Con.. I think that's like the only thing I told any of those people I was so rushed to jam through that line lol.

Great! I'm with all of you. She does rock hard and she's better than Linda in a lot of ways. Linda is Sarah when I watch the movies though. Something about Lena though, the way she plays Sarah that just does it. If only we could get a movie with Lena playing Sarah, that would be something to see...

Going overboard here. Is she prettier than Linda, without a doubt. But come on folks, Linda IS Sarah Connor and everyone outside this wiki will probably agree ESPECIALLY after the crazy Sarah episodes.

Lena's Sarah IMO is meant to be a different Sarah than Linda's. In T1 and T2 Sarah had youth going for her; you could tell she was eager for the fight. But now, after all the years fighting, being on the run...it's worn her down. It's why she can't sleep. And I agree, on that count, she does a better Sarah. John perceptively pointed out to her, that she isn't Cameron...she's a more complicated character here, and Lena does it well.

On the other hand I saw that ugo.com rated her #3 in the top 50 Hottest Sci-Fi Chicks. Not sure about placing her that high.

I like the crazy episodes. She needed to go crazy, she's always been a little crazy. No one believed her in the movies, at least till they saw proof, I.E Silberman and her son. No one believed her about the dots, she got shot went a little crazy, went to a lame funeral, got kidnapped had a nice scrap with Winston. She's all good now.

She took Sarah C. to a whole new level. Sarah Connor rules and Lena Headey rocks.
And who is this Linda Hamilton you speak of?
Just kidding. Lena had big shoes to fill taking over that role, but she did it! And brought a lot more to Sarah C. than I would've thought to be possible.

No it's not going overboard.

It's all on opinion. If you think Linda is a better Sarah Connor then good for you. Just because people don't agree with that doesn't make them wrong or overboard. It doesn't matter if they're the minority, their opinion is still valid.

I like Linda's Sarah. The movies rock and I wouldn't want anyone else in those movies. But I DO prefer Lena's portrayal better. Maybe it's because she's had the opportunity to really get into the character and show SO many different sides of Sarah that Linda didn't really have that opportunity.

Indeed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It is valid but it doesn't always count. Here there is a big difference between the minority and majority. I'm talking Oprah big. Linda is the true Sarah Connor and I think over 90% would agree with me. Not in this wiki but terminator fans in general. But that has nothing to do with Lena. EVERY other actress would fail too because the role is that iconic.

That is my humble opinion which is valid too.

Lena is the right actress for TSCC.

She is as attractive as I could want for John's mother. She ably portrays the intensity required by the show's writing. She has a number of endearing expressions and mannerisms that sweeten her scenes and make me happy to see them. (I particularly liked her expression in What He Beheld after John said he wanted to go out for dinner on his birthday, no disrespect to her cooking.)

She is not as buff as Linda Hamilton was in T2, but she seems to have no problems handling guns, and the writers haven't had her lifting heavy objects. Her fight with Winston in the van was quite credible to me. She conveys the combination of toughness and vulnerability that the writers want Sarah to show.

The only thing I haven't really seen much of is Sarah's motherly love for John. The character is written as if she were on assignments and loving John was one of her assignments. There haven't been many true parent-child moments, but perhaps that is normal for somewhat-alienated teens like John. Not many hugs and kisses at this age, I guess.

Of course, there is also not much romance. The closest we have seen was the times with Charley, in the pilot and later on when she told him he should move away after he helped patch up Derek. I think Lena could be passionate in romantic scenes, but I don't hold much hope for this in TSCC. Maybe in the ep where Charley helps then dies.

Whether or not the character has evolved has been discussed on other threads. I agree that it is up to the writers, not Lena. No question we have seen her go through a lot this season.

Anyone who doubts that Lena Headey is passionate AND gorgeous, need only to watch Aberdeen, or the unrated version of "The 300", if you're old enough.

Linda Hamilton as an action heroine in T1 and T2, was simply amazing. Her mental breakdown scenes, though, are another story. When I go back and watch them now, it's like watching William Shatner play some of his over-the-top Shakespearean crap in ST: OS.
Painful. Linda Hamilton, baring arms, bearing arms, in that black wife-beater T-shirt and/or flack jacket, was a middle aged man's fantasy.

But Lena has picked up the torch, and she carries it well beyond my expectations.

Hmmm...Prettier? I wouldn't kick either one out of the bed for eating crackers...take that to mean whatever you will.

As far as "Crazy Sarah" goes? As a matter of personal preference, I lean more toward Linda's "Crazy Sarah" (The brooding thousand mile stare that bursts into action when the time calls for it, in a "I'll kill you, the gig is up and you're going down...Your arse ain't safe NO WHERE!!" kinda way) as opposed to the "You don't know me and I don't even know my own name anymore" version of Crazy Sarah.

However, I'd like to point out that the differences in the versions are due to the writers, not the actresses.

Fantastic thread. I like Summer/Cameron myself but I LOVE Lena. She's absolutely about one of my favorite actors. She plays Sarah so well. I liked Linda Hamilton as Sarah but Lena brings a softness to the character that makes her a more rounded character IMO. But I think there's room for love for both actresses. They each make Sarah Connor their own. Lena's ability in the Some Must Sleep episode to play basically two storylines in the same episode cemented my respect for her. On a smaller and more shallow note...she's also gorgeous. To me (having read a later post) Lena is #1 in the "hottest chicks in Sci-Fi" category, hands down.

What you say about Linda's lack of opportunity beyhond the 3 hours in each movie was a very very good point that I actually hadn't thought of. Linda's Sarah started out innocent in T1 and immediately was the hardened emotionless Sarah in T2. And she was brilliant in both sides She didn't have the opportunity to show what brought her from point A to B that Lena's getting to do. As I said in my earlier post...I think it's possible to admire each actress and their portayal equally.

That's why I think the big Sarah story arc was so important. Because we never did get to see that transition between innocent waitress to hardened psycho warrior. Lena playing the gritty, serious role should have won her an Emmy. Casting Lena gave us a scowl most pirates would be jealous of while at the same time being incredibly attractive. I never thought someone could look so good hitting a punching bag (at least not since Swank in Million Dollar Baby, anyway).....They should have written her tattoos into the show somehow, since I don't think it would have been out of character for Sarah to have them, too.

It would be out of character but it also wouldn't. Sarah seems like a woman who would have tattoos but because she's staying off the grid and away from law enforcement I think she wouldn't get any tattoos because they're easily identifiable.

But, I do see Sarah getting some tats from when John was born to when she got thrown into Pescadero.

True, even though it's technically the same person, they're at different junctions in their lives.

LindaSarah was very sure, confident, unwavering and unflinching in knowing what she had to do.

LenaSarah has been on the run for so many years now, that it's taking it's toll on her, and she's become tired, disillusioned and confused about her goals.

I forgot about the security risk. You're right. Once cataloged by law enforcement and/or whoever else has Sarah momentarily, tatoos become a security ID liability. She needs to remain anonymous, so once again the writers are doing it right.

No, I can't say that I've seen that particular movie.

Back when I used to be an officer for the North Carolina Department of Correction, we had a database of gang related tattoos. They were more of a "badge of pride" kind of deal (The gang name in flames around a burning skull or snake, or what have you), as opposed to being a requirement for being in the various prison gangs. Once the gang members started realizing we were cataloging their tattoos, the trend began to shift to no tattoos at all...for obvious reasons.

Betcha not many of those 'bangers were displaying birds butterflies and flowers. In fiction tattoos have been used identify many organizations, from airborne rangers to satanic cults. in 'eastern promises' tattoos figured heavily in the russian mafia.

1) Actually, there were a few Asian guys with oriental dragons, flowers and such. But their tats appeared mostly ornamental, each was different so we didn't associate it with any gang insignia.

2) I'm just curious now, why did you specifically say "airborne rangers", instead of any other generic special ops title?

Actually thats a gaff on my part. I misremembered Gary Busey having a rangers tattoo in 'Lethal Weapon'. In fact it was special forces.

Great link. Yeah, looking at those tattoos, they just don't have the TSCC style about them. Need something like a dagger dripping blood, or a Glock image... etc. for Sarah. Lena never did live at Pescadero or was attacked by Terminators, so Sarah would be different!

Lena Headey is a peace loving vegetarian that doesn't like guns.

Sarah Connor is an escaped felon that taught her son to shoot various weapons and make various types of bombs before he was 10 years old.

Yeah, they so wouldn't have the same type of tattoos.

Well, I would say Sarah is peace-loving, too. And for all we know, she's a vegetarian, as I only remember pancakes and pizza being served, I think (veggie pizza of course!!). Sarah is more proficient in pyrotechnics than Lena, for sure. And the accent is off, but besides that, they do look alike.... LOL

Sarah is going to get a coyote tattoo anytime now....
I keep thinking I'm going to get something, but when I mentioned it to some family/relatives one time, they all said it would result in blood poisoning or something. If done with new needles, I wouldn't think there would be a problem. I might just do it...... a coyote wouldn't be bad for a guy, but they have a bad reputation here in Colorado, as there have been no less than 5 documented human attacks by them this winter alone around here.

I love Lena.
She is Sarah Connor for me even though I grew up with Linda Hamilton and adored the Sarah character. I remember reading the fuss that was made about a skinny English chick playing the icon Sarah and I saw the pilot with the idea in my head that it would quite simply suck...

She stepped up, took the role, oozed with charisma and toughness and all with a hint of vulnerabillity and humanity.

Love her
*sigh*

"Plays her better than Linda Hamilton."
Absolutely. Linda was downright awful in T1, unless you give her props for nailing an airhead, then in T2 she was a bit better, but the whole "I'm crazy! I'm freaking crazy!" behavior got really tiresome to watch. I suppose her acting was fine, but re-watching T2 is like running my nails along a chalkboard every time I see her going nuts in a scene. Ugh, too much James Cameron, IMO, he's always pushed for the most obscene extremes in his movies. However, to be fair to Linda Hamilton, what Headey's Sarah needs is to show more aggressiveness and passion. Her character often runs the risk of putting viewers to sleep. Given the choice, however, I prefer Lena's version because it's thoughtful and collected.

"Lena playing the gritty, serious role should have won her an Emmy. Casting Lena gave us a scowl most pirates would be jealous of while at the same time being incredibly attractive. I never thought someone could look so good hitting a punching bag (at least not since Swank in Million Dollar Baby, anyway).....They should have written her tattoos into the show somehow, since I don't think it would have been out of character for Sarah to have them, too."
They still could write in the tatoos. This series has a life of it's own and will rise like a phoenix in one way or another, whither in a third season, a movie, or miniseries. Lena's tatoos would be perfectly appropriate for Sarah to get. A big Thank you to Lena Headey for a great Sarah Connor!!!

hey, everyone, I'm glad that you have Lena's thread here... I've been her fan for years and years before TSCC. I should admit that I'm a little bit irritated by the fact that all the fuss is about Summer/Cameron. Get me right, I really like Summer, I think she's great at portraying a machine but all this keeps Lena underestimated. I've never been into the Termintor stuff, i started watching it only becoz of Lena, and, Lena, thank you for introducing such a great show to me :)I won't compare Lena to Linda, Linda was great but I think Lena was a right choice to replace her, she broght so much new to Sarah. And yes, I know Sarah's been crazy lately and I couldn't help noticing that fans somehow transfer that on Lena, c'mon, Lena have nothing to do with it, all this is down to the script written by writers/producers. And if Sarah looks like a complete psycho then well done Lena, she plays it authentically :) I'm finishing now, Lena is one of the best actresses, talented, true, sincere and thinking of having her weekly in a new episode just makes me want to smile and love Fridays even more :) Lena, I love you, girl, go on and hold your head high, you're simply the best :)))

Taking cheap shots at Summer is not the way you want to handle this. I'm not going to react on every cheap shot but here it is said Summer ain't no lady. I'm gonna turn this around for a second so you'll see how it sounds. Summer, who doesn't want to portray dependent stereotype women which puts women in general in a bad daylight. She never sold out to play a role. She's the one of the sweetest people in Hollywood. And she ain't a lady? Lena had a topless scene in 300 which was totally uncalled for. It had not functionality other than the obliged titty-shot and that to you classifies as a lady?

I have the utmost respect for Lena but you guys are taking this too far. Some of you are not attacking Cameron but you are attacking Summer. And why? Because she steals the show? Lena has had far more screentime and WAY WAY more lines and still Summer steals the show. You guys should think about that. Also, 300 was a worldwide hit while Summer doesn't have succes of that magnitude on her resume, still she totally took the limelight. It's no accident the only cast member to win a prize was Summer for her betrayal of Cameron.

If you feel the need to attack someone because you are frustrated attack me, or Cameron but leave Summer out of this. What should she have done to make Lena look good? Act badly? Sarah Connor looks bad on the show because she makes emotional decisions, nothing wrong with that except they are error proned. It's not Lena looking bad it's Sarah Connor. Blame the writers for that, not Summer Glau.

I had no problem with Sarah in the first season except for not killing Andy Goode. They really screwed her up in the second season escpecially the latter half.

I'm Lena's fan, you can say what you want, it doesn't matter. I understand that's everything is down to script, it's all up to producers whether to build up Summer or Lena or whoever. We get what they give us and we don't have a choice really. And after all, this discussion is for LENA HEADY! it means that you can meet people who love her maybe a bit more than Summer. If I join the conversation dedicated to Summer and start talking that Lena is better, guys, you're gonna kill me there. Even if I don't think so :) Yes, I think Lena is way hotter than Summer, so what? It's my opinion and won't change it :) at least I'm not going to :)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are those who think Summer's gorgeous and there are those who think Lena's gorgeous. Then there's the middleground who think both women are gorgeous.

As for Summer stealing the show... That's one opinion.
I tune out whenever Cameron comes onscreen and pay attention again when Sarah returns on the screen. Lena Headey really made Sarah her own and added a new depth to an iconic character (which should be considered quite an achievement on its own since she had some big shoes to fill). I love the fact that she has the ability to change her entire attitude as Sarah in less than 4/100th of a second. Now that's stealing the show for me.

My point is that to each his or her own.

Seriously you need to chill out. Summer is way too young for me. If I really said what I thought about her you'd be even more insulted. This thread isnt about Summer its about Lena. Take a chill pill already. The world isnt going to stop because there is a thread in which people prefer Lena to Summer. Its really not that serious. And as for 300 and Lena's topless scene, she wasnt the only one naked if you want to go all feminist about it. Its the context of the moment in which husband and wife are celebrating each other. She's not a sell out or betraying the females of the world for showing her body. There is nothing wrong with the female body and she's got a great one. The movie is rated R its content is for grown ups. Go start a roboloving Summer thread to go with the 3000 other ones and get over yourself. And on a personal note Lena Headey was way more memorable to me in 300 for her actions and character than her body which is hot but not as hot as when she stabbed that dude at the end. It seems all you took from 300 was the naked stuff.

if to listen to that guy than Summer is the only lady in the showbusiness... seriously, i can't recall any actress or singer who didn't show her body (unless they weren't under 15). I don't say it's very good but it's not everything to pay attention to. It's the last argument for me, actress is actress, she should be judged by her acting skills

Just saw Lena in The Broken and Red Baron the other day. The Broken was freaky and I gotta say the ending was brutal. Watching Lena suffocate and bash herself on the head was very brutal. I don't know if I can watch Laid to Rest. I don't generally like slasher films.

I enjoyed Lena's performance in the Red Baron. I thought her French accent was nice. I know she plays a German in the film. But I'm pretty sure the accent is French and they were in French territory.

Lena is a underrated top notch actress. I think she just needs to land the right role and the right film to get the acclaim she deserves. I've read in a few movie reviews that Lena's performance was great but the film was not.

To be bluntly honest...it's not just one opinion, it's the general concensus. Most fans and critics agree on that point.

Whenever Cameron comes onscreen you tune out? No real fan would tune out because a particular character comes along. I hated Riley but I never tuned out. WTF?

About Sarah, that's your opinion and it's clearly not the most popular opinion I can tell you that. Like tucson said, Sarah has been very erratic and it doesn't suit her. But that's certainly not Lena's fault, she doesn't write her lines. She has some big shoes to fill like you say and she can't fill them. Easy as pie. To be honest, nobody would ever fill those shoes. Linda Hamilton IS Sarah Connor.

I've not followed this thread in a day or so. I'm just wondering why this suddenly became a Summer vs. Lena thread? I like Summer a lot and lover her portrayal of Cameron, but this thread is about Lena I thought and to focus on her greatness. Which she is great. She personally makes the show for me.

Also, I've never been a fan of the words "most fans say, or most whatever say. " Perhaps most fans who actuall POST may feel a certain way but that's not necessarily accurate unless you speak to every single fan of the show. That type of phrase seems to imply that it speaks for me. Which in this case it doesn't. It speaks for fans who actually post to the boards. Nor does it speak for the people that I talk to here or via IM who watch the show.

"Taking cheap shots at Summer is not the way you want to handle this.

And why? "
First of all, who is attacking Summer? i just read that some people think Lena is more beautiful and/or hotter than Summer. How is that taking cheap shots at Summer?

You're the one that is taking cheap shots at Lena. Saying she isn't a lady because she has been topless in some movies? REALLY? That's all by viewpoint man. Some people don't have any problem showing their body but that doesn't mean they don't have class. That was a cheap shot. Another cheap shot is saying it's no surprise that Summer is the only one that won a prize on the show. Uhm, now that's a cheap shot and downgrading now only Lena's acting, but everyone else's.

No on is taking cheap shots at Summer nor tearing her down. This is the Lena Headey thread and if people want to say that she's hotter than Summer.. deal with it. It's just taste. it's just preference. Get over it.

I agree that Angelika could probably kill and skin a person faster than they can scream. Makes crazy Sarah seem tame.

I'm not an expert on accents. At first I thought Lena's accent was German too. But then I listened more carefully and the accent sounded more French to me. It's a little confusing because Lena's character appears to be German since her name is Kate Otersdorf and she is serving as a nurse with the German military. The movie does take place in France and Richthofen calls her madmoiselle several times. Maybe Kate grew up in France. That may justify the French accent (if in fact it is a French accent).

Anyway... I don't know... Maybe FrenchFanofTSCC could tell us.

Man alive is this place getting really childish or has it always been this childish?

As for the topic at hand which is Lena, yeah I saw The Brothers Grimm and hated it. It was an godawful movie, but as always Lena was her stunning and sexy self. Interesting bit of info, the director of the film hated her and didn't want her in the film and let her know it every chance he got and blamed her for the commercial failure of the movie, studio heads overrode his decision and insisted that they cast her instead. Kinda messed up for everyone involved huh.

The Red Baron was a decent movie, kind of a Euro Micheal Bay movie, her accent is french in the movie if I am not mistaken. But I loved the ending of The Broken. It was really messed up and creepy. The Contractor was really bad too. A great movie of hers is Aberdeen, really her best. Its the kind of movie that sticks with you for a while. She's really great though in everything. A lot of range. She'll hit her stride and do something big and take off or she'll continue to float and not even bat an eye its her nature.

Yeah, this place is getting really childish. That's why I stopped visiting this site for a while. It still is childish if not more.

Anyway, I read about how Terry Gilliam didn't want Lena in The Brothers Grimm and then blamed her. The movie could of been really good. Everything seemed to be over the top. Like Gilliam was trying too hard. All the actors' performances were too exaggerate except for Lena. Her performance was the most natural one. I also read that this experience was so horrible for Lena that she didn't want to act anymore after wards. But then she landed the role of Queen Gorgo and it gave her a boost.

Aberdeen was indeed a very good film. Lena was great in it. Too bad it didn't get a wider release at the time. People outside of Norway only got to see Aberdeen after it was released on VHS and DVD. I thought The Red Baron was nicely shot but the story was flat and not very exciting.

Yes, 300 was a "bloody" good film. I loved the brownish color of the film. I didn't think the sex scene was necessary, but that's just me. Lena was great in the movie. She's really good at portraying strong female characters. I loved that one of the reasons why Leonidas kicked the messenger into the pit was because the messenger insulted his queen.

As for 300 one of my favorite scenes is when she tells Leonidas to come back with his shield or on it. It was really great to see. You know in any other movie or maybe even any other actress she would be balling her eyes out with tears and mourning. I loved that about her character in that movie.

It's a good scene and telling husbands going to war to return "with your shield or upon it" was custom in ancient Sparta if my history knowledge is correct. Women had no interest in their men being sissies, since if they lost a fight their women would be taken as wives by the victorious or sold into slavery.

Merlin is on DVD, but I don't have a copy of it yet. Syfy doesn't make a lot of epic movies that are good, but I liked this one. Excellent Syfy films are: Merlin, Dune, Children of Dune, Taken, The Room, and I even liked Momentum with Terri Hatcher. These are probably Syfy's best movies/miniseries so far. You really got nothing out of the end?I thought it was brilliant. The way she was running thinking she was her normal self, that emotion of finding out that she was the Doppelganger, she cries and cries then snaps too. No long winded explanation of the evil lurking within just that simple realization. I thought it was great, it was 50 times better than recording a new tape or some such nonsense in the Ring, or was it the Grudge or was it the Eye, jeez I get them all so mixed up.

I mean.. what was the point? Why were these doppelgangers in the mirror, how did they initially get out? Why.. what's the purpose, the point? And so many times during the movie they'd build you up and then nothing happened. That's cool to happen a couple of times because it psyches you out.. but it did it too many times.

I haven't seen the movie since I saw it in the theater so I don't remember it exactly. However, I do remember sitting around the car afterwards with friends talking about it and we came to this brilliant conclusion and reason that wasn't really explained in the movie at all... but I don't remember what it was. I'm really glad they included the political intrigue and all that, that's what made it more interesting and in my opinion, rewatchable.. but can't fault the movie for having 3/4s of it being the battle since that's what the whole thing is about anyhow.

To me the family was haunted and the mirrors were the gateway for the hauntings/ Doppelgangers to escape. There where those kinda faraway shots from behind the mirrors and that was a gateway for them. At the family dinner the mirror breaks with all them present and one by one they get replaced. I think those doctors where in on it. They seemed really interested in her inability to remember the details of her accident. The problem with this movie is that it leaves way too much for interpretation. The Doctors were talking about a psychosis that only occured in 100 people 80 in the last ten years, they knew something about her. She was investiaging these weird x-rays in the begining at which point she herself said it was rare, at the end of the movie she's checking out another x-ray with the same results and they were her's.

To me the movie was not about why this was happening. It was about her Doppelganger running around thinking she was the woman she killed. She felt fear, she sensed something up with her beau, it was more about that than why it was happening. It was interesting to see how the accident made her think she was normal. Why not fight it, because obviously she could have, she was. But she didn't. In the end she accepted her demonology if that's the right word and she kinda drove off happy. Weird. But I understand that a movie not cut and dry leaves a lot to be desired. But I really, really liked it. And like I said I really hate that genre but this movie was pretty sweet.

"To me the movie was not about why this was happening. And like I said I really hate that genre but this movie was pretty sweet."
Oh yeah the whole spin that she was actually the doppleganger was awesome. I loved that part.

But like I said, there are just some things that could have made it.. purely awesome.

I watched the Broken and want to say that this movie really deserves a whole year waiting for it. I really loved it tho I don't like movies of this genre, I covered my face with my hands sometimes (i'm a coward, yeah). Well, there's only one thing I can't understand - what about those x-rays? What they were and what's strange about them? And why did she throw them away in the end if they were hers?
I would like to know the reason why those "evil reflections" came into our world but i think the movie wasn't about it, it was about Gina's realizing who she was, the process was really intereting. Should I say that Lena was adorable? Couldn't take my eyes off her. Must admit I liked her in the end the most when she realized that she was a Doppelganger, she started to behave like them. She became evil! And I love her when she looks at her brother with her eye red in the end! OMG! Go Lena. I would really love to see her someday playing a bitch (sorry for that word) - nasty, overconfident and maybe even impudent. So, I liked the movie even if I understood from the very beginning that it wasn't real Gina, it was her mirror-double. Lena impressed me again :)

She plays the Queen of Sparta. Most of the movie takes place out at the battlefield, but the scenes that take place back home and about the political stuff, ya know.. the stuff that makes it more of a story lol.. Queen Gorgo are in those scenes.

I should probably talk about this in the "To the Lighthouse" thread, but I know if I do, all the anti-Sarah people are just gonna talk about how Sarah ruined season 2 for them.

So, if you all don't mind, I've been wondering if the cops from "The Good Wound" finally figure out that their Jane Doe is really Sarah Connor. The synopsis for "Lighthouse" says that Sarah fears for her life and stashes John in a safe house. If the cops do chase Sarah, it'll add another exciting element to the show. It would be cool to see a car chase with Sarah shooting out the window.

Schmacky
Thursday, 5:45 PM EDT
One thing that bummed me out about this show was the lack of authorities going after Sarah Connor.

In both T1 and T2 they weren't just running from the Terminators, but the authorities as well. It adds an extra element to everything. Because even when they don't have a terminator actively pursuing them, they're still on the run because Sarah is a fugitive. And Derek too. But, Sarah more so than Derek because she's wanted for a hell of a lot more than murder.

It'll be exciting when Sarah gets arrested and breaks outta jail.

AdoptMeSarah we all know that Sarah Connor and her Chronicles drives the Masses mad. I dont even waste words with them anymore. What would be the point? If it aint Cameron or Jameron, seriously what is the point. They are set in their one sided way of thinking.

As for those cops I always wondered what happended to them. Did they have any evidence left? Maybe some blood from the Motel? Maybe. I myself have not seen the Wondercon trailer because I try to remain spoiler free, stuff gets to me anyway. But anyhow it would be sweet to get to the Law being after Sarah and John. I've mentioned this before on another thread, but I have to give Lena props for working out. I noticed in Earthings Welcome Here that here arms are more buff than season 1. And in The Good Wound it's very evident that her arms are no longer scrawny.

lena headey is really good as sarah connor. i don't think she's as good as linda hamilton acting wise. linda hamilton was just plain intense, tough, and strong. lena headey is sleeker, intelligent, and prettier than ms. hamilton. overall, i think lena headey has done a fine job on the show.

We do need some TSCC bumper stickers. Like "My Mom Hates Terminators", or "My Sister is a Terminator", just to honor Sarah and the gang.
Seriously, I don't think most women would be gay for Lena. I'm a guy, and I wouldn't be gay for the best looking guy out there. However, I've discussed my man-crush (very non-gay type) with cool guys it would be fun to hang out with, like Matthew McConaughey, Lance Armstrong, etc. As for Lena, there are some women across the street from me that look at Lena the same way I do as a guy, if you know what I mean.

I really don't want one because it makes my car more identifiable ... but if we get a season three I'll toss a coin between the scuba one and a TSCC one.

Nothing at all wrong with hetero crushes. I think there is a movie out now called "I Love You, Man". Haven't seen it, just one clip, but it looks like it takes a not-so-serious look at "dating" the same sex, all hetero. BTW, "I Love You, Man" gets very high rottentomatoes.com ratings. Yeah she does. And she's awfully sexy when she does.

I talked myself into getting over the gorefest that I imagined Laid to Rest to be and got all jacked up about watching it till I found out it wasn't coming out till April 21. I feel like Eric Cartman in this weeks South Park. All he wanted was his Grand theft Auto for the DS. Hmmmph.....I should go to sleep already. I am still awake from like 10:00 am yesterday. Man Alive was Lena smashing this week or what?

1. LOVED the jungle boogie stuff. Loved it. I was talking about wanting more of that the other day. Loved seeing the bond with her John, loved that she hung out in a tree all night just waiting to merc whoever came near her or John, loved the tops tops, love the Ak47's, loved the game her John and played when they were younger, how John won the game, that click of his rifle showing that even at that age it was always that serious. Loved that she shocked her boob, that was something, gotta watch it again but did she break that dudes kneecap? I think she did. Did I mention the tank tops. Whew......she is way too fine for her own good. It would suck if it got canceled, no more cool stuff like this.

2. Didnt love Charlie not being able to go in blaze of glory. Didnt like that one bit.

Other than that this was the best ep of season for me. I for one liked the chip, it was a lot of Scully but way better than cancer.

Lena is always great. I also loved how Sarah tried to play around with John. It showed how much she missed goofing off with him and how she wished they could have a "normal" mother-son relationship.

The things that Sarah will do never ceases to amaze me. For weeks after seeing the WonderCon trailer, I've wondered why would Sarah shock herself with a defibrillator. Finally, we find out and it was a damn good reason. Better than taking a scalpel and cutting the transmitter out herself.

The jungle flashbacks were great too. It reminds us of Sarah's love for John and how she cherishes these memories of her son. It also reminds us of how long she's had this burden of saving the world. Lastly, I would so love to see a Sarah Connor vs. Predator movie!

Predator movie!"
I've been daydreaming about the jungle flashbacks all morning....It was very cool indeed.

I know I shouldn't let it get to me, but at the "Sarah brings danger to John" thread, they're blaming Sarah for Charley's death. Calling her selfish for going to the doctors to get her tumor checked out. They're also saying that Sarah hates Cameron. I don't ever recall Sarah saying that she hates Cameron or do anything that would imply it either. Sarah just doesn't trust Cameron. Given her background and experience with terminators, plus Cameron's glitch, she's got reasons not to trust Cameron.

Lol Sarah selfish for going to the doctors is not true. That is a perfectly reasonable and understandable action. It's her hypocrisy that angers people. Flaming Derek and Cameron as if she were flawless. They should flame her. It's her fault Charlie is dead though. She should've have gone out alone when she was injected with the transmitter. She coul've taken Cam with her or just send Cam but she f-ed up again.

But she didn't know it was a transmitter. She thought it was a tumor. So, she had no idea. She really thought John would be safe with Charley. She couldn't trust Derek because Derek lied to them all. In a way I can't blame Sarah for not trusting Derek at the moment. And Sarah doesn't trust Cameron because of her glitch. She saw Cameron's hand twitch and knew that at any moment she can "go bad."

Rewatch "Some must watch" again. Pay special attention to all the flirting and inuendo that Cameron uses with John. Pay special attention to Sarah's closing monologue. She sees Cameron as a Demon Woman, there to steal John's future and his children. If that's not hate, it may as well be.

Sarah never really trusted terminators. After Cameron went bad in S&D I think that's when Sarah started to loose trust in Cameron. Then when she saw her hand twitch, Sarah lost even more trust in Cameron.

Sarah Connor.

Poor Sarah, hunted so much by so many she can't even remember what she wanted to be when she grew up. Has to hide in tree's to snipe people and forgo sleep, while most parents are giving their kids water guns to have and play with her boy is walking in the jungle with an Ak47. Poor Sarah she is going die and her fear is she that she is going to fail in her mission to protect her son. She can't love, she can't even explain to her son how useless love is in their world. She can't even go get a cancer exam without people saying she is selfish. She can't trust Derek who has lied to her on more than one occasion, she can't trust the machine who has already tried to kill her and her son, but she's such a head case, right? She's such a bitch right? I'm done. Say what you will about Sarah Connor but she is freakin awesome. Most women and please I mean no offense to women I love them. But most women can't handle what she's dealing with. They can't. So it dont really matter much to me what most people say on here about her character. She's good, real good and she never gives up. Her will is iron. She's great and just so no one thinks I've gone all soft she is freakin HOT in those tanks. Keep em coming girl. Keep em coming.

I've got a few things to say about Sarah with this episode. Derek's relationship with Jesse has kicked out another leg of support for Sarah in regards to protecting John: she thought she could trust this guy, and he's partly responsible for putting her family in danger because he didn't say anything to the Connors about this woman. Now there's two people in her "cell" she doesn't trust (obviously Cameron is number 2).

Bringing John to Charlie serves 2 purposes. First, she explicitly tells Charlie and John that she doesn't trust Cam or Derek, and tells Charlie that she wants HIM, no one else, to care for John when she dies (which she believes will happen before the sonogram, she thinks she's got cancer and is going to die soon). Second, she wants John to know Charlie's location as he's a father figure to John and as we know from Self Made Man (I think), John misses Charlie.

But there's something beneath all of this, revealed by the jungle scenes. Sarah longs for the days when John was her little boy and she took care of him. As we've seen to a degree in Today is the Day Part II, and with the Slug-bug game, and John's response to her decision to take him to the lighthouse, John is no longer that boy. He's becoming a man, one who can and will survive on his own. John is rapidly reaching the point where he doesn't NEED his mother's help to survive. It's also the point where he'll become the leader of the cell, not Sarah. Things are coming progressively closer to that point, and like any mother, Sarah finds herself wishing she could turn back the clock.

Yeah great points all around.

I disagree about John not needing her help. John needs all the help he can get. And I always saw it more like John really wants to save her sometimes and either she will berate him about it or he'll make a bad choice (I.E Riley in the hospital) and someone steps in the way. John wants to stand on his own I get that but he aint ready not even close. But then again are any of the Connor Crew really ready for anything?

It does suck being far away (sometimes). Location shoots can be a lot of fun, boring, or incredibly miserable. And Romania... is not exactly the happiest place on earth to begin with! Top that with cold weather diving... well... you can imagine that it's not terribly fun. But it's quite cheap to shoot a film in eastern Europe.

I concur. People don't need to like her. Just don't hate on her. And don't hate on her here.

I concur Schmacky! "Aberdeen" is (IMHO) one of her best! I saw it at the Angelika in NYC after reading a GLOWING review of her performance in the NY Times. I knew her from her work on UK tele, but was blown away by her performance in this.

If you can get a hold of it in the US, "Loved Up" is excellent. Her first time working with writer Ol Parker (who went on to write and direct her in "Imagine Me & You.") Often overlooked, but a very sweet performance, is "The Gathering Storm". Her relationship with the disabled boy who plays her son is very believable.

Like Schmacky said Aberdeen, that movie was so real. I really dug it. I totally loved her performance she was fierce in that movie. She's good in everything though.

This goes for everyone too not just Mark_A , You might want to check out Face its a British gangster flick, she plays the girlfriend and its really a cool flick and she's in it enough.

Twice upon a yesterday is kinda like a romantic comedey its decent. Dont care for the end persoanlly.

Yeah then there's Gossip she was cool in that. The Cave, Imagine me you. That movie is really cool. She's very very sexy in that movie. Its kinda of chick flick but one you can sit thru I highly recommend that one, its really cool, St Trininan's was like Problem Child for girls. I liked that one a lot but she's not really in it that much. She's still very sexy in that movie even though she plays the geeky teacher. I wish she was my teacher growing up. Anyhow, The Parole officer was very funny to me. Check that out if you can. A lot of her work is in British TV so I couldn't really find much. Oh and The Red Baron. That movie was decent. She has. I kinda started to notice it in Earthlings, that's when it hit me that I liked Sarah Connor the most on the show. Like a light bulb went off and said Idiot you like her. I never really paid her all that mind. But when she at the warehouse and started with c4 and plastic and she was all "Where's the metal!" I was hooked on her ever since, hit me kinda late, like I saw 300 in the movies and sat there thinking man she's fine. Then I forgot all about her till the ads for TSCC. So i watched and waited for her to grow into it. Like she has trouble with the guns a little she doesn't like them you can tell. But she loves the hand to hand stuff, yeah this is a long winded way of saying that her acting in top notch and she seems so cool now in playing Sarah Connor so yeah.

I didnt catch the Lara Croft thing but now I dont ever want to see Angelina Jolie play that part anymore. Lena could totally do it better and she wouldnt have fake her accent.PLus she is a way better actress and way hotter. Never cared for Jolie.

"She has.

Lena could totally do it better and she wouldnt have fake her accent."
Interesting. I remember watching 300, not in theaters but not to say I've never heard of Lena. After that, I kinda forgot about her until last month...I started having these deja vu's and I tell ya, it drove me crazy for the next two weeks after. Ever since I watched the show on dvd, every scene - every detail was familiar as if I had seen it before. I even had two terminator dreams that Tuesday night and it felt I had those dreams before.

It was really weird how...in some way, Lena was a part of these feelings-strangeness - these deja vu's. I asked myself, why? Why her?

I also saw the Brother's Grim and remember renting it one time. I saw 300 last year around this time. As for T:TSCC, I think during the writer's strike, I watched the pilot. and the episodes that followed. As for season 2, part of me remembers seeing the first half of the episodes but I am not entirely sure.

When did the show first air?

Yeah, Lena's got a big resume. She been working every year since her first film in 1992. She's even worked on multiple projects in many of the single years. (Not sure if I phrased that right...)

I was surprised to see she was Guinevere in "Merlin". Always wanted to see that.
And, she worked with McGruber...er...I mean "McGyver". (Those of you who watch Saturday Night Live know what I mean there.)

A lot of the things she's been in wasn't available or shown in the US so it seems like she hasn't done much but then you look at her credits and realize how long she's been working and that she really is an experienced actor.

I can understand why Thomas for example has said that he's learned a lot about acting and everything from her because she has been doing it for quite a long time now.

I read an interview once where she said her career was like a rubber-band. Many projects she's been in on the cuff of stardom and then she bounces backwards and then does projects that are lesser known or smaller roles and then she is on the brink of stardom again and bounces backwards again. But she also said she likes that.. she's a working actor but doesn't have to deal with that stardom.. like the best of both worlds.. both work but doesn't get the crazy attention.

I'm telling you she sneaks up on you. That's what's cool about her. I mean look at her film work, look at the roles she takes. Never the same really, but never a victim either. She always takes these roles that call for a lot of inner strength. She's got nice eyes I think that's what did it for me. Really green. I like green eyes. Yeah and her ass, she's got a great ass. Sorry. She does.

I think I remember in one interview that even Summer said that she's learned a lot about acting and show biz from Lena.

I wonder if she's a workaholic or just really loves acting. I suppose it could be both. I think it's awesome that Lena does a lot of short films and home movie projects too. It goes to show that she's not stuck up. She's not one of those actors that only work on big projects that pay millions. She really acts for the craft and enjoyment of it.

Thats what I love about her. She's not the hollywood type and sometimes that can be a good thing. Says a lot about her and quite honestly, at least I know I am not alone when it comes to...how she approaches her roles. I mean from what I've seen, she's been in some weird... stuff. She's got a great sense of humor.

I even made an avatar of that one scene where theres a moving shot of her leaning over the fountain...wow...

But what attracted me to her was the character she portrayed as Queen Gorgo and her scenes were great. Especially the last one. I cried. I even got teary eyed when John broke down and cried on Sarah's lap, especially in Episode 20 when Sarah and Charley talk. I really like the scene between Gerard and her when they talk in bed... you don't see two people - a husband and a wife in bed talking the way they did to each other. I thought it was moving and touching ,and yet I felt bad for them. So I think the scene that followed after that was necessary - cause that was the last night they had together - to show their love for one another. I knew after that night, it would be the last.

Love the council scene though. I hate that part when she gets raped and glad that guy got what he deserved. I wanted to beat him up.

I agree that the love scene after the talk in bed was necessary. People criticized how it was a sex scene for the sake of sex but I gotta disagree. Since the guy was going off to war where they both knew he wasn't going to come back... I think that scene was quite important to the story. Gorgo and Leonidus didn't have much screen time together but they had to portray the intense love they had for each other... and they did so through the physical act of love.

Very cool.

That love scene has has a few discussions on this thread. I like the scene. Its very intense. I liked that. I said it earlier that scene was about them celebrating each other love, passion, hotness, the whole nine. Its a good scene. Whoever that person was who said the scene was gratuitous I cant change their mind. I did not find it so. I found it to be kinda romantic. He loves her she loves him he's going off to war. That's how its done.

Death Wish for Something Real Starring Lena Headey as Joyce.

She hits the car of a high ranking General type fussing with lipstick or something (borrowing butler plot of Seinfeld) she is sentenced to having to go thru basic training and she gets to do push up and sit ups and running ( if ya saw The Broken you know she looks good running.) and she builds bonds with her mates and whatever gets to go on a snipe hunt laughter and maybe skinny dipping can ensue, there need not be any nudity cause its pg-13 but there will be little flashes of arms and legs bare backs and can you tell I watched too many movies growing up?

I know exactly what you mean. Stuff gets in the way with my music. The trick for me is not to lie or kid myself about the distractions or their importance. Its all about commitment. I sacrifice a lot to live the way I do and have music be the sole focus. I dont talk to many people outside my universe, no girlfriend, not many friends and I understand that is what I have to do to get my music to shine. Its the life. Its why I am here talking about an actress instead of trying to meet one.

The one thing I get about Lena and her acting is the sacrifice. You gotta pay a price to keep doing what you love. She should be way more famous just on her acting alone let alone her attractiveness, its mitigating stuff why she isnt, but I think a lot of it had to do with her choice in her roles, she's all over the place cause she wants to challenge her ability and also because of mitigating circumstances. I read somewhere that she was up for Daredevil and Pearl Harbor, those movies would have gotten more attention but they sucked and the idiot directors did her a favor in casting the other two they did. Now she gets play to Sarah Connor. And she plays her quite well.

I get her too in a way. I think her role as Sarah Connor is her best to date.

I was watching the Turk episode and certain shots of her made me go, whoa, she looks like she could portray a young version of Shmi Skywalker from Star Wars cause of her resemblance to Pernilla August who portrayed her in the prequels.

Star Wars: The Shmi Skywalker Chronicles heh.

Seriously though, it would be kinda interesting if someone went back to the early days and I think Lena would be my first choice, plus I know she can easily pull it off.

Anyway, i don't have many friends but I think part of it is b/c I let work get in the way...I work at a pharmacy drug store... as a cashier. I go for walks quite a lot. I feel calm and at peace and I imagine a lot in my mind.

That scene bothered me because I felt it was obligatory nudity. It wasn't necessary to go nude there but...maybe people wanted to see other people have sex in that typical 300 setting. But I saw The Broken last week and Lena had a completley useless nude scene there too. It was just as derogative as those teen slasher flicks and I really hte it when actresses I admire lower themselves like that. And the movie sucked too!

In Hollywood everyone is doing nudity I guess, you win prizes that way. I remember reading someone posting nudity delivers Oscars and backed it up with hard facts. Lena why? That scene added nothing to the movie and was absolutely unnecessary.

I see people here going all crazy about Summer and her wholesome character and I have to say I respect her for not doing that stuff at all. I also think Mr Friedman is getting Lena bad material. Sarah is so inconsistent.

C'mon Lena, you can do better than The Broken and you're still my favorite but for the love of God don't degrade yourself like that again.
