Ok, John was 15 when they jumped to 2007 and had hi 16th birthday at the end of season one. The marker over Derek's grave read 2009. So John would be about 17 or even 18... unless they just jumped us forward so that the show stays current.
What do you think? I think John is acting more like an 18 year old rather than a 16 year old.

"T2 established John's dob as 28 Feb 1985 T3 established John's death as 4 July 2032
T:SCC pilot sent John forward from a date in Sept 1999 to an equivalent date in Sept 2008: thus for dates post that Sept 1999 date John is physically 9 years younger than the chronological date would suggest. As S2 ended John is in fact approaching his 16th birthday." Why would you think John was sent to 2008 in the pilot? Here's a close up of the bank vault TDE: http://www.sarahconnorfans.com/photo/6096107/Pilot+Time+Machine+3If he arrived in 2007, then he would be physically 8 years younger than the chronological date would suggest, not 9 years.

I believe that Thomas Dekker is the best John Connor of all time. Better then Edward Furlong, that fag in T3 and way better then Christian Bale.

I don't think Nick Stahl was bad... He didn't have much to work with but that doesn't mean he's a bad actor in anyway. I think he did a decent job even though i also hated his character that he portrayed. I don't blame it on him or his acting but the director/writer ect.
Edward Furlong portrayed John Connor really well because he always went against the norm hacking atms ect. He was believable and very great for such a young actor. Now I can't really compare him to Thomas Dekker they portray John Connor in such a different way. Thomas Dekker took me a while to really like him but by the end of season 2 instead of taking orders from his mom he was giving them. Honestly at the start of season 1 it was a step back from what I saw in T2, but by the end he became more influential and more of a leader than I thought in T2. Eddie Furlong will always be the original John Connor to me, but Thomas Dekker was also great in the role.

Anybody else think that Christian Bale and the future John Conner in T2 look a little alike?
Also, the other guy signed on for TS: the future begins, Marcus Schenkenberg looks kinda like Michael Biehn.

Watch the promo. He's going to find out when Sarah confronts him about Riley and accuses him of telling Riley their secret. It's understandable, so far he's done everything dumb in regards to Riley EXCEPT that.

"Sarah is the original MILF!
In a deleted scene from T2, after Kyle has been sent back:
FUENTES: "Now what happens to Reese? I mean, what did happen?" Connor's gaze seems far away from this time and place. CONNOR: "He accomplishes his mission and in doing so, he dies." FUENTES: "He is a good soldier." Connor solemnly nods. CONNOR: "Yes... He's also my father." FUENTES: "Mother of God!"" CONNOR: "I knew her as 'Sarah'..."

I'm sure a thread like this exists somewhere but I haven't seen it. So, apologies to any original, but I would like to throw around ideas of what you'd like to see John do (please no one say Cameron or Riley....too predictable).
I really want John to say something funny...I can't think of a single funny line. He smiles/smirks when someone else says something funny but does he...ever??
We know that Thomas Dekker has a gift in music...I would like to see John pick up a guitar...because it would be sexy, but also because it would make some great Jameron music videos if cut back and forth between it and John and Cam's sweet scenes. Also, maybe he could sing for someone at some point.
Alright, your turn.....what do you want to see??

"yeah, john could take on a terminator one on one and win. that would really give him a taste for it and set him on the path he's meant for...like it." I'll go with that. Add in: 1. Empathy: the leader of mankind in the future is supposed to be someone that everyone trusts. Who he is now will not cut it, because he can't listen to the heartbeat of humanity. 2. He needs improved relationships with everyone in his life. The current trust no one storyline isn't going to make a worldwide leader or a general who can tie his shoes. It won't even make a sergeant that a squad would listen too. 3. As has been hinted at in other posts here, he needs charisma. It isn't enough for the storyline to say he's the boss, he has to be an alpha male at some point. The writers and the actors have to show why people want to follow him. There are people that humanity will follow blindly into the gates of Hell, John Connor is supposed to be one of those people. 4. More risk for a better purpose, John leads from the front not the rear bunker, so he really has to start becoming the warrior the world will need him to be. That means accessing danger, making real plans, moving with others and making things happen. The three principle characters he is with: Sarah, Derek and Cameron all have the tools to teach him what he needs to know, but he has to learn from them and take control of his own destiny.

"Still think it was out of character that he snapped Sark's neck in a rage. This is the writers' creation and looks like they have to resolve this mess(or not really a mess maybe something he had to go through sooner or later in the timeline. maybe John has to execute traitors in the future, who knows).
Maybe this is a whole different timeline. If they stayed in the past, and Cameron and there wer no more terminators from the future since T2, there may have not been any Sark incident. " IMO, it was absolutely out of character for John to kill Sarkissian - but that's the point. This is a leap he'd eventually have to make as leader of the Resistance. This is exactly what necessitates Derek's character. As bad-ass as she is, Sarah is not a killer. The kid in the bathroom stall proved that again as did her inability to kill Dyson in T2. That was a huge mistake. I understand her morals, but Derek and Cameron weigh these things better against the big picture. Maybe had they not jumped forward the Sarkissian killing would not have taken place, but at some point, it was bound to happen that John would have to take a life. The first one is always the most difficult so I get why he's upset, but it's the reality of his situation. He'll get past it, as surely he must. That he would throw that in Sarah's face betrays just how much he has left to grow to be the man he will one day become. The good news for us is that means a good long series for T:TSCC to see his evolution through to the end.

Here's something to chew over - when the drew came forward in time from the bank vault, we knew that in the time between the "jump point" and the landing point Sarah was to die of Lukemia - so there's no chance of meeting herself. But John is still alive and it is possible for the "jumped" john to meet the "linear " John. Or does his temporal line actually include the time jump?

"Time logic is a mess in Terminator Series/Movies
Think about this, if John is really going to die as a young boy then it will not be an older John in the future. In other words why send a protector to myself in the past if I still alive in the future." That is actually a really good point, well either one of these could happen if John does not send a protector back. 1) Sarah Conner is killed, John is never born. Future John Connor starts to fade away like Back To the Future? - hmm i dont think so. 2) The Future Continues, Skynet looses, mankind rebuild, 2000 years later, a new computer is built takes over the world. lol

Future John in T2 is shown wearing a uniform with the insignia of a four-star general. That's an error, right? As the leader of the Resistance, surely John is entitled to hold the rank of five-star general.

RE: Future John's rank in the Resistance

I’m currently writing a story that involves a set piece battle in the future ( whether I post it or not depends if I think it’s any good) anyway it got me thinking about what the structure of Johns command would be like. Rank isn’t just to say who’s top dog, it designates what unit types/numbers you command. For example a lieutenant commands a platoon of approximately 11-44 soldiers give or take and a captain commands 2 platoons or more called a company and so forth. Perry is a one star General (Brigadier General) so he is either a deputy commander to commanding General of a division or is the commander of a brigade size unit, 3000-5000 strong John is a four star General (General) and can command anything from 50000-1000000 soldiers, that is, multiple divisions (Corps) or Army (Corps or multiple Corps) I some how doubt that John has that many troops under his command so I think his command structure while following general military principles is probably akin more to the French resistance of WW2 with “cells” rather than the regular army chain of command. Each “cell” would be independent and wouldn’t know the location of other “cells”, they would have a set zone of operation and wouldn’t be any larger than Company size as larger formations would find it harder to avoid detection. A cell could be commanded by any rank from lieutenant to colonel regardless of actual unit size. It would be conceivable that officers of varying rank survived JD but lack the troop numbers to justify that rank so I envisioned a divvying up process of the available officers to the various “cells”

At the end of The Terminator, Sarah is last seen driving through Mexico while six months pregnant. I assume that John was born in Mexico.
Mexico recognizes birthright citizenship, so John is Mexican by birth.
I was just thinking that in the United States political climate of 2007, what Cameron did to ARTIE makes John a Mexican terrorist. John gets the blame because Cameron is not a legally recognized person.
(On a completely unrelated topic, I'm still bitter about Y2K7.)

"Maybe but we will have to find out for sure. He seems pretty white to me. Unless that what his new fake id may say about him in 2007" What does race have to do with anything? Excluding in some anthropological outlooks race coincides with nationality (paticularly in Mexico)...but in this day and age you can be Haitian and be white racially---of course in Haiti you'd be considered Black even if you made Frosty the Snowman tan in comparison. The only group that is not a racial group is Latino/a. Since every country taht speaks spanish in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean are of mixed descent unless they can say otherwise....which not many can. So being "white" doesn't stop you from being Mexican or even Chinese for that matter. As for his status...he's a US citizen. He'd have dual. Only if he was Haitian would he not have dual, he'd have to choose. I realize that Sarah was driving to Mexico at the end of T1 and she could have very well aided with the Zappatista movement, but when I was thinking of Guerilla warfare I figured she went down to Souh America like Columbia or stayed in Central like Nicaragua.
