Cameron
During the night the brothers stumble on a group of children. Unbeknown to them, since Kilee had never told any one about the chip she programmed, one of them was the machine that the chip had been implanted in. She came into the camp with the others and soon became a constant companion of Derek's. He found out that her name was Cameron Philips. Which he thought this was interesting since Cameron was a code name that Kilee often used over the radio while out on missions. Cameron would follow Derek around and observe what was going on in the camp. Derek even managed to show her some of the double K's secret passages out of the camp. This relationship became helpful to Derek as well. He was able to learn some information about the machines that improved his images among the other leaders in the army. Many of which assumed that he got the position because of his connection to John Connor. One night about two months after Cameron came to the camp, Kilee had been following her. Kilee noticed that at ever turn of the corridor Cameron would look back over her shoulder. Kilee thought this odd behavior, and since she hated the fact that Cameron had so much of Derek's attention she would love to find something bad about her. As Kilee followed, hidden in plain sight, Cameron made her way to one of the secret passage ways that led outside. Once in the open night air Kilee saw Cameron talking to someone that was in shadow. She could not make out the person, so Kilee slid around some trees and caught sight of Cameron's face. What she saw almost made her cry out loud. But the 18 year old had had enough training as a soldier, and as a child growing up in war, to be able to control her emotions. What she had seen was the blue eyes of Cameron Phillips glowing in the dark. The blue light behind them seemed to illuminate the stark emotionless face. Once her shock was under control only then did Kilee realize what Cameron was telling the stranger.
"There are four passage ways that lead from the outside into the main human camp. None of these are guarded since the army here are unaware of them. Some children a few years ago created them." Cameron said. The metallic voice of the stranger cut across her "I do not need any of your odd programming Infiltrator, just give the facts and the locations." "Fine here are the coordinates." With that Cameron rattled off a list of numbers, as Kilee ran them through her own head she realized that the tunnels that Kyle and her had built to sneak out of camp in the daylight unnoticed could now become the downfall of the human race. She was unsure what to do. Though she no longer lived with John Connor, having moved into the army barracks 2 years ago when John married Katie, who 5 months later gave birth to their first child a daughter they named Sarah. John would no longer listen to Kilee over the Cameron issue as he put it. He said that Cameron was an equal member of the camp and that Kilee needed to deal with her feelings on her own. So now that Kilee had real reason not to trust the beautiful teenager she no longer had the trust of the leader of the human race to listen to her. She was still thinking about this as she realized that the meeting between the two machines ended. Kilee followed the other machine over a few hills to discover that it was heading back to a small army of machines. She knew that she could not let the machine tell the others what Cameron had revealed. She reached into her back pack and pulled out a pipe bomb that Kyle had made. She got close to the machine and then cut the fuse shorter and lit it then stuffed it into it's endoskeleton. Kilee just managed to get into a safe place behind a boulder before it went off seconds later. Kilee smiled over the wreckage then slipped away using a tunnel that Cameron did not know about to slip back into camp and to dinner with the Reese's, and Cameron. As Cameron was headed back to the orphanage Kilee walked up to her. "I know what you are and I will stop you form hurting them." she nodded back towards the Reese's. Cameron smiled "I will do what I need to do to make sure my race wins." She started to walk away when Kilee asked "What is your mission?" without thinking Cameron said "To gather information that will destroy all human life and report to sky net this information. Secondary programming to protect John Connor and those with him." It was then that Kilee knew what she faced. As Cameron walked away down the hall Kilee stood there shocked. Her chip, she had all but forgotten about it herself, it was still active. This machine that was bent on destroying them was the very one that she had programmed to protect them. Well to protect John any way. She needed to be able to get to it. To somehow over ride sky nets programming. What Kilee didn't see was the surprise on Cameron's face as she said her mission goals. Cameron had had her back to Kilee when she stated these. It was only then did Cameron realize that they contradicted each other. John Connor was a human, she was ordered by sky net to infiltrate the human camp and gather information that will bring the downfall of all humans living there. She would take part in the killing once the others began their attack. But she was also programmed to protect John Connor, a human that she had seen several times at the camp. Derek spoke to him regularly. She was running her programming back, she did not know what to do. Both programs were running simultaneously. She had told Derek about the machines hidden base that they where setting up some secret project that she did not know about. But it was huge and they needed humans to help with it. Live humans, but they didn't need to be completely healthy. She spent the rest of the night running through her programming looking for a way to do both.
In the morning Kilee went to John she needed to tell him everything, but as she rounded the corner to the command center Cameron walked out of the door. She was followed by John. John smiled at the girl. "Thank you for voicing your concern I will have a talk with Kilee as soon as possible." before Kilee could slip back around the corner Cameron saw her. "Well there she is so you have your chance now." John turned and the hard look on his face was the closest to angry that Kilee had ever seen him use while looking at her. In a short curt voice he said to her "inside now!" then he turned to Cameron "I will take care of everything don't worry. Why don't you head down to the barracks, Derek can show you some of the new weapons we will be testing today." as Cameron walked off John went back inside. "What is the meaning of you sneaking out in the middle of the night alone to follow one of our own people." Kilee went to answer but John cut her off "That girl has been through enough you can trust her as I do. She is working for the right side." This time Kilee wouldn't let him cut her off she continued to speak when he tried to stop her. "That 'person' as you call it is a machine! She was giving away information to another machine about how to get into this camp under the unguarded areas." John flew across the room and grabbed Kilee by the arm and hissed "I will no longer stand for this. Either control your jealousy over Cameron and Derek or find another camp." With that he angrily threw her out of his office. Hurt and confused Kilee starred at the closed door. John leaned against the other side hoping that he hadn't gone to far. He prayed that Kilee's natural instinct to protect those she loved would force her to continue monitoring Cameron. John was yet unsure if Cameron was completely on their side. He needed Kilee to continue to distrust Cameron.
Kilee starred at the door. She may not have John's support but she would rather die then leave the Reese brothers in the hands of a machine. Even one that may yet prove to help them. She was unsure on how much of her programming sky net had found and overridden. She had only been 13 when she did it. In the five year since she had become the best in her class, as well as outdoing some of the records, in hand to hand combat skills, weapons training and the field learning she needed. Two months ago John had placed her into the reprogramming program. It had been on the very day that Cameron had arrived. She would continue to watch over Cameron and hope for a chance to get her hands on that chip to check and see how it was functioning. She walked away from the door, she had class in a few minutes. As she walked into class the instructor called her up front. "I'm sorry Kilee but I was told to send you over to the infantry unit they are headed out on an mission and you were requested to join them." The sad look that crossed the old soldiers face hurt Kilee. She knew that he had seen what she was going into. "Don't worry I will be back!" she smiled and then headed out the door again. She walked to the infantry unit only to find Cameron helping Derek into his gear. Kyle was standing dressed and ready next to another pile of gear. "Hey there this is yours." he indicated the gear he was guarding. Kilee caught the guarded look on Derek's face and assumed that he had heard about her incident with Connor that morning. She took the farthest route around him and went to Kyle. "So what are we doing today?" she asked as she started to get into gear. "Unsure they just asked for the best long range shooters we have. The six of us were then called to arms." he grinned. She couldn't help but smile back. Sometimes you just had to love your job, and Kyle did as long as no one got hurt!
Cameron of course over heard Kyle and as they were walking into the briefing room she headed towards one of the secret tunnels. Derek had managed not to tell her just who made these tunnels. In the briefing room John looked around at everyone. His gaze stopped on Kilee for a moment. She glared at him and he looked away. He was afraid that she would see through his earlier act, but he was concerned for her. This would be a difficult mission. "All right here are the details. Col. Lewis is trapped on the black ridge with a group of humans from a camp somewhere east of here that the machines destroyed. He was brining them here when he discovered a small army of machines camped in the valley. They are cut off. We need to give them a passage through." "How small are we talking?" Derek asked. Again John looked at Kilee, she was no longer looking at him, but starring at the map he had been pointing out the locations on. He sighed then answered Derek "Some where between fifty and a hundred machines." "What!" came several shouts. "Sir that is impossible odds with just the six of us!" said LT. Daniels. Kilee spoke for the first time "Not if we set up over Rocky's look out. We could leave you four there and then Kyle and I.." she paused a moment then went on "Well there is another pass that we could take to get to the others and lead them here." John looked at her. He had forgotten about Shangri La, it seemed a lifetime ago then he said "Do it! You can go now." As they were getting up to leave John said "Kilee I need to talk to you Please." He added seeing her look. She waited as the others left. John sat on the table top and looked at her "I'm sorry I was so rough this morning, but this situation you are putting your self in with Derek and Cameron needs to stop." "You made that clear this morning." she said curtly. "Be careful" he said.
She walked out without saying anything. That man could really confuse you she thought to herself. John looked up at the map and said to the empty room "Keep them safe." then he walked into his office to answer the radio that had just gone off. Meanwhile Cameron came across the wreckage of the machine that Kilee destroyed. She found the remains of the bomb and put together this with Kilee’s warning her the night before. A fierce look came into her eyes and they glowed brighter then ever. In the sunlight no one saw though. She decided to keep a better watch on Kilee Dixon. She then went down into the machine camp and told them what she had overheard and seen in the human camp. They sent her back with some information that she knew she would have to tell Connor somehow. There were more machines hidden in the woods and caves along the ridge and their only mission was to destroy any humans they saw. Capture was no option. Cameron didn't know that these where the very caves that Kilee and Kyle were about to walk into.
The small group set off for Rocky's lookout. It was named after a boy that loved watching the stars from there. He wasn't quite right in the head and people took turns looking after him. One night he got out and was lying here looking at the stars when a machine saw him and ran him over, slicing him in half and leaving him there to die alone. At the mouth of the path that lead up to the look out Kilee and Kyle broke off from the others and headed out towards the caves. They had been inside for about 5minutes when the first bullets flew past their heads. They hide behind some rocks and started shooting back. The others hadn't made it to the look out yet when Clark heard the firing. "I think the K's are in trouble." Everyone froze to listen. Derek was the first to react her ran towards another entrance into the caves. He was hoping to come up behind whatever was firing at his brother and Kilee.
